How long after you get a spray tan can you shower. And any tricks on minimizing the 'orangeness' on your hands?

They say wait up to 4 hours but when I had to get them for cheerleading competitions I would wait until the next day.
For the orangeness on your hands I would use a scrub to try to exfoliate it off.

The longer you leave it on the darker it will get. I managed tanning salons for 4 years and have seen everything lol if you wanna get it completely off your palms and such try windex or and exfoliant, but only on the area you want to remove. To lighten it just wash. The more you shower/shave/etc. the quicker it will wear off. Hope I helped.
Ps. If you got a mystic or machine spray tan the normal wait is 4-6 hrs. If you got an airbrush (which I prefer bc they don't really turn orange ever) it's 6-8 but you can leave it on longer to get darker, up to 24 hrs.

I think they say to wait six hours where I used to get mine done all the time. I usually would just get it in the evening and put on sweats and long sleeves and sleep in it. Make sure to use an old pillow case though and wear socks if you do this cause it can stain your sheets if you're not careful!
I would also get them sometimes during on Friday/Saturday's around 12am and then by 7-ish that night when it was time to start getting ready I would shower to lightly rinse off the excess(don't exfoliate during the first shower as it can lead to patchiness), wash my hair etc and it never got streaky or ruined.
They should give you a barrier lotion at the salon, but if they don't I would just use any oil based lotion and apply it on your hands, between fingers and around nails to avoid staining. I imagine you shower and shave before going as well, so if you do, you can apply a light water based lotion on your skin to avoid the tanning solution catching or becoming too saturated on drier parts of your skin like your knees, elbows, knuckles, toes ears etc. It really helped me, and I hope I have helped you! = P
