What would you buy at Ulta if you had $50 to spend?

My adorable husband bought me the Smashbox Full Exposure palette for Valentine's Day, and is fine with my returning it to Ulta for an exchange. I can't decide what I want to get instead.

Have you bought something recently at Ulta that you love and really recommend? It can be makeup, skincare (40s, dry skin), or hair toys (long hair; I like to curl it or wear it straight).

The only time I splurge is when it comes to face products. So considering that I have that already set, I'd use $50.00 on drug store items. ( Color eyeliners, eyeshadows, NYX products, MAC Dupes, etc. ) which will probably buy me a whole bunch of things ☺

I agree with kitty, you won't end up with a lot if you buy all high end.

I'd go for a high-sh end serum/moisturizer. Or a luxe foundation which for me would be Chanel, Armani, Hourglass, etc. Or like Miss V a couple of rollerball perfumes to add to my fragrance addiction.

I definitely go for quality, but I have a lot of drugstore dupes too. I pretty much have everything I need (I stock up regularly at Sephora's F&F sales) so whatever I get here will be a total luxury item. A good high end foundation sounds like fun, and I'm really tempted by Lorac (don't have any of their products yet). Thanks for all the input!!

I just ordered a blush palette off Hautelook the other day so I'm thinking I'll stay away from a blush until I figure out if I like the palette or if I'm going to return it to NordieRack. I'm definitely tempted by the Pro palette so I think I'll swatch it and see how I like it. I have a LOT of neutral palettes, though.

Do any of you have the Marc Jacobs foundation? Does Ulta carry it? Do you like it?

My ulta carries the Marc Jacobs line. Someone tried to get me to buy one of their eyebrow pens, eh. I have heard much about Marc Jacobs so I haven't bought anything.

Thanks for the feedback, Cali, Kenna and everyone else! ❤️💜 And maybe I will go in the direction of the Pro palette - you're very convincing! 😉 I'll probably poke around the store and see what else they have and keep you posted. It's always fun to have "free" money to spend!  💗

Why are you returning your smashbox full exposure palette? My fiancé bought me that palette in January as a "sick" present (I had a total foot reconstruction) and I'm obsessed with that palette! The shimmery colors are best used wet ( but are also great for a light simple look when they are used dry( and the matte colors are incredible! They are pigmented bit chalky or powdery and easy to blend! The brush it comes with is also amazing! But if it's not for you I'd go with the naked3 if you don't already have it or the lorac unzipped palette or the too faced chocolate bar palette if you are wanting eyeshadow palettes! Oh also if you are into bright colors urban decay is coming out with the electric palette soon (it will be in the summer 2014 collection in probably March April or at the latest may) it's full of beautiful bright neon colors! Yeah so excited! If you are wanting blushes if go for the 2 new too faced sweetheart perfect flush blush in peach beach and all about berry. Oh an another awesome palette is cargo meet me in Paris

I agree with velen quality over quantity, have you tried the too face chocolate palette? If not you should lol.

I'm with Cali. Quality over quantity but I'm a equal opportunity lover. I find misses in both high-end and low-end but find an equal amount of hits in both price points. I'd definitely check out the LoracPro palette. Equal number of shimmer and mattes and the shimmer isnt crazy disco ball texture either. Very smooth and creamy.

Nicole - I was disappointed with the pigmentation of the FE palette. I know some love it, but it was just too chalky for me and the shimmers were too shimmery - too much sparkle. I can handle a little but they just had way too much for my tastes. I have the Chocolate Bar (which I love, thanks Lili!) and all three Nakeds (plus the mini). I'm seriously considering both the LoracPro (Shelly, thanks!!) or the Unzipped. I'll hop by the store and test them out and go from there.

I have enough palettes to frankly not ever really need to buy more for a good 5 years, I think, but they're my temptation and it's hard to resist. I figure I'll buy one more for now and then just stick to foundations and other "necessities" for a while...

Thanks for your inputs! Much appreciated.  :)
