has anyone heard of the line or tried any of the items? G at nouveaucheap introduced me to the line a few weeks ago & said that they'd be BOGO free at CVS this week!
all i saw was MAKEUPBOGOFREE. haha. i'm a tight wad. all i really know is that the line is exclusive to CVS & was set to launch august 2011. which is right around the time i noticed the display at my local one.
i popped in there tonight & picked up the Rose Petal Hydrating Balm & Lasting Wear Gel Liner pencil. i bought these literally two hours ago, so these are definitely my first impressions, nothing more.
the Rose Petal Hydrating Balm has evening primrose & shea butter. it smells...like rose petal. not real rose petals, but that old grandma bathroom/potpourri from the 1980s smell. that might not make sense to anyone, but this scent does not please my nose at all. & i can faintly taste the smell (that probably makes no sense either) of the scent. however, on my lips, it's smooth & soft, not greasy & not really too sticky! it swatched with a slight hint of peachy pink, but just made my lips shiny!
i just noticed as i was reading the package; "directions" apply to lips, cuticles, elbows, & other dry patches. use as desired to condition dehydrated & chapped skin." so i totally didn't know it had multi-body part uses.
the Lasting Wear Gel Liner pencil. hmm. i swatched it (before i took photos. doh!) & rubbed it with a dry finger. smuuuuuuudge city. then, i smudged it with a wet finger & surprisingly, it stayed put! now, after a few rubs, it did start smudging. but i won't know anything until i try it! it doesn't swatch the darkest black, but builds up to a solid black.
i have a feeling i might be returning the eyeliner if it doesn't pass my test. i'm all about trying the new drugstore liners trying to find the best one! i've uploaded a few pictures, including swatches, showing you a single stroke & mutiple strokes of the eyeliner. i'll post two links to blogs with good pictures/info about a lot of the products in case you don't live near a CVS (which is tragic! ):).
i've to hear your thoughts if you've tried the other products or if you're going to try them! i couldn't picture what was missing in my local display, now i realize someone completely wiped out the mineral blushes! now i really want to try them! :/

I really didn't know they had makeup. I went to CVS a couple weeks ago and saw the hair products display. I probably wouldn't try it though because I'm just too skeptical. lol.

yeah my local one had a display of trial/travel size ones, but i'm not really one to "try" shampoo. i mean if i buy it, i'm going to use it all unless my hair falls out or gets severely damaged! :p but i don't get too eager about shampoo/conditioner.

well they're BOGO free this week so go NOW! i'm not sure what i'm going to get if i return the liner (since i'll probably have to exchange because of the sale). those eyeshadow quads just kill me with their packaging.

I've been wanting to try it but everytime I go to cvs they are sold out of almost everthing. I guess that means the products must be pretty good lol!

The BOGO is good until the 22nd I believe, but I went to one and the shelves were empty... like they were getting ready to put it out (there is no sale sign or price stickers, so I don't think they sold out), and another CVS doesn't even have a section for it. =(

@jane, always ask if it's not out on the shelves! mine display was actually in the beauty isle. it was just a little corner display. i know the CVS a block away doesn't carry it either (they also don't carry rimmel. grr!), so i have to go to the next closest one.

I'm planning to pick some items up next time I go to CVS, I hope its not all gone like everyone is saying, haha probably! I shop at CVS so much so it would be great if some of prodcust are good because I always have coupons to use!

I purchased the volumizing mascara and was very let-down. It provided good color to my lashes and separation, but no volume or length.
I recently tried one of the eyeshadow quads and, so far, am liking it. I haven't tested all of the shades quite yet, so I can't give a full report, but so far so good!

that's a bummer about the mascara! i don't know how you can put up with the bulky packaging on the eyeshadow quads. i heard the eyeshadows were pretty okay, but let us know how you end up liking them! (:

aww shoot I JUST bought that mascara, well I'll still try it out at least I can return it. I also got an eye shadow quad and cheek trio, I'll let you guys know what I think once I try them out!

I've heard via YT and bloggers that this line was a bit disappointing in pigmentation and lasting power, especially since it's target demographic was supposed to be geared towards women of color. It's kind of a shame, since I was really into the packaging... =/

I can see how its geared towards towards colored women and I mean it is a "drugstore" brand and NEW one at that. I had hopes but I won't be surprised if I'm let down.

I bought a bunch of stuff with the buy one get one. I liked the skincare and body washes the most. The makeup was good, some were great some so so. I plan to do a bunch of reviews on my blog, so feel free to add me!.
I did not get the Rose balm because for the price, you get almost triple the amount in the Rosebud salve and its cheaper! so it wasn't worth it to me to even check it out. The rosebud salve I got years ago I have yet to finish and I love that stuff!
