Okay, I am pale, and most drugstore brands are either too dark, too pink, or too yellow!
I have no idea what my undertone is! Some people say im more pink, some say it just looks pink because i have rosy cheeks... so im really confused!
I am using Lancome Teint Idole Ultra in the lightest shade at the moment, and I like it for night time, but during the day, I look too powdery and matte! I think its more for an oily skin!
My skin is dry, and I would like medium to full coverage with a dewy finish!
£30 is my limit.
P.S Please help me find my undertone!!! xxx

Have you looked into L'Oreal's True Match foundations? Most displays have a shade finder you can use. They have cool, warm and neutral tones and a long line of shades. You hold the shade finder to your wrist, and whichever shade disappears against your skin is the shade for you.

Have you considered Asian BB creams? They don't have a wide shade range because many are meant to melt into your skin and color match you - and they're especially made for pale skin tones. They're much cheaper and have LOADS of great ingredients for your skin.
For your skin type, I would suggest the MIssha Perfect Cover BB cream. I'm using it myself, and I love it. It's a med. - full coverage, and has a great SPF in it. Check out their reviews for yourself. I purchased mine recently, and received a free full-sized #23 with my shade #27 purchase... so you can end up getting two shades for the price of one if you're unsure of your color match. I believe 21 is their palest, 23 is their most commonly sold color in Asia, and 27 is for the NC20-30 range. =)
I also received a free bb cream sampler set and two brightening moisturizer deluxe samples for spending over $40 for free shipping on their US site.

I live in England, and L'oreal don't have the same foundations here (The ones in the little glass bottle) we don't have the colour chart either! :(
Where did you get your BB Cream from? Do they deliver to the UK?
I agree Andrew! My wrist is even paler than my face and neck so that wouldnt work!
Just saying, in my pictures, I don't look as pale as I am due to lighting!
Thanks again for posting guys!

I agree with Andrew - SkinBase is outta control GREAT. I'd been using Missha BBCream and thought I'd never find its superior, but I did...! I'm a big fan.

I would suggest Lancome Teint Miracle. I am pale as well and I went to the counter and they matched my skin and I was in a surprisingly darker shade. You never know with different foundations. With any foundation I would suggest getting color matched because its easy to pick out the completely wrong color. Lancome foundations have a wide variety of shades so they are worth checking out!

I think it's safe to say that you should go with the Illamasqua Skin Base. :D

I think MAC is coming out with a new foundation formula that has an extended shade range. I think they will have a shade thats lighter than what they have now. Its also designed to fit into anyone's skin tone.
I think it has spf as well, and is at least medium coverage. If I'm remembering correctly. Let me find the link to the info.

Here is the link from temptalia about the MAC Matchmaster foundation: http://www.temptalia.com/mac-matchmaster-foundation-spf-15-for-fall-2011#more-31163
Actually, I may be wrong, it may not contain a foundation that is lighter than NC15, which is currently the lightest MAC shade. But we'll see once it is released.

If you're pale enough to not be able to find a foundation match, I would suggest the 21 for you... and they might still have the 23 promo going on... I know it's a US site, but if you try leaving a note during your purchase, they might be able to accomodate you. =)

I KNOW I KNOW!!! You should try the invisible powder by beauty bakerie, it's CLEAR and adjusts to anyone's skin color...so you'll have a natural matte finish! that's my guess girly :) http://www.beautybakerie.com

@Kris: I have to agree with Andrew regarding testing foundation on the hand or wrist. It's not a good place to do that. IMO, the better place to test foundation is the jawline.
@Ainslie: I'm super fair, and I think I can confidently say there is *no* MAC liquid foundation that will work on very pale skin, not without lightening it with a white foundation.
Other suggestions... some theatrical brands -- Ben Nye, Kryolan, Graftobian -- have massive ranges of foundation shades (liquid and cream), wider than drugstore or higher-end brands. Here's a video where some of their lightest cream foundation shades are swatched...

Currently, though, I use either Illamasqua Light Liquid Foundation (LF115) or Maybelline Fit Me (#110).

I used to work for Smashbox so I understand the frustration you have with trying to find a great foundation. Try their Hi Definition foundation in F0. It usually will match anyone with really fair skin. If the F0 is too light, try either the F1 or the F2. From your photo I can tell you have a pinky undertone. It's not because you're rosey, that's just what your undertone is. Try to stay away from any product that has too much yellow in it. A lot of foundations for fair skin have a ton of yellow in it.
