I have a pretty good mix in my kit, but I try to stick mainly to the higher end stuff. No one I've done makeup on seems to mind if I use drugstore products because they care more about how to apply it rather than what I'm applying. Also, I think they feel less intimidated when they realize I use a few "regular, everyday" things. That being said, I do, however, use only drugstore products that I would use on myself. If I wouldn't put it on my own skin, I wouldn't put it on a client, and everything in my kit has been used by myself at some point to make sure I love it as a product. The only thing I won't use that is drugstore is foundation. I just feel like a higher end foundation is a whole new experience for someone who has never used one before. But, like I said, I do stick to more high end stuff just because it is an experience for the client and they're paying for that experience.

All of my kit is pro grade makeup with the exception of: Wet & Wild brow powder (I carry Anastasia and Lorac), but love this one as well. I carry Maybelline waterproof mascara in black and brown. What drugstore brand makeup can be found in your kit? Don't be shy. 80)

Until i can afford better i have revlon color stay foundation and i keep to drug store mascara (lash bast Currently) and one of the mineral blushes from physicians formula because i just adore the color and cant seem to match it

Hi!! I'm new over here! I use L'oreal voluminous x5 mascara for me. For my kit I like to use Maybelline, i have it in black, brown and blue ;)

i have maybeline honey spf compact and maybeline volumizing mascara?
Lauren C.
Great lash mascara...that's it. Clients typically don't appreciate cheaper makeup being used on them because they're paying so much for a service.

L'oreal volume colagen mascara in blackest black (which is comparable to Dior Show mascara), NYX eyeliners and lip liners, and Elf blush :D

L'oreal voluminous mascara is amazing! NYX cream blushes and lip glosses and the best too. That's about it.

I have to agree with Lauren C. A drugstore mascara is where I would draw the line. Since I have clients that pay me starting at $125/application, I feel it would be disrespectful of me to use products that they may already have at home that they could go purchase at Walmart or Target. Yes, there are great drugstore products, but my goal is to make their makeup experience luxurious and to let them experience products they may have never used before.
Ana S.
Of course, it's important to have luxurious products for clients, but I do many shoots and I have to have good products but cheaper.

I always have CoverGirl Lash Blast waterproof. It's a must. I don't know if NYX is considered drug store, but it is on the more affordable end, I have a bunch of lipliners from them.

@Carmella P., I agree, CoverGirl Lash Blast is always in my kit! It really performs like higher end brands and is comparable to Dior Show. Overall, I think drugstore brand mascaras are always the way to go.

I am going to have to try out this CoverGirl Lash Blast mascara because some of you ladies speak wonders of it. 80)

I agree with some of the ladies that mention that we should all have pro grade kits because clients are paying for an experience. I only use pro-grade makeup and have products sold exclusively at Barney's and high end locations, however I thought this question was interesting because I know many celeb-MUAs and agency repp'd MUAs use a few drug store items in their kit. I will forever carry the items I mentioned in the beginning of topic. I love them and I toss mascaras out very often so I need the drugstore brand ones. I also get a lot of gratis (high end mascaras) but opt to use those for myself.
