I'm having the hardest time coming up with a name for my new blog/channel. Any idea I've had has been taken so far. -_- I have a few cute names unrelated to beauty but I kind of wanted one that was related. Help?

What I did was I really thought about what kind of message I wanted to spread to my readers and viewers--that's how I came up with "You, the beautiful" or as written on my blog "Beautiful you".

Maybe try something like that? Think about intent?

Not sure if this would help, but I guess you could think about what you feel towards beauty. Like a statement that relates to you!

Personally, I think your blog/channel name should be something uniquely "yours". The beauty world is so overly-saturated with blog/channel names such as "Makeup by ..." or "Beauty by..." For example, look at Temptalia! Her name is very uniquely hers. I'm not saying you shouldn't have "makeup" or "beauty" anywhere in your blog/channel name (my channel name is brikasia beauty, whereas my blog name is just brikasia), but perhaps you can spice it up a bit by adding a unique name to it? I hope that made sense lol. I had a hard time coming up with a blog name, too. It took me like, 2 months lol. But I doubt there's another "brikasia" out there in the beauty world, so I can say it is uniquely mine. I hope this is helpful to you! Best of luck coming up with a name! :)

^I agree w/ Brianna G.! I do get pretty tired of seeing the "MakeupBy________" handles, and although it is informative, I feel like it's overemphasized I'm looking at a makeup blog by a certain someone. I like the fact that I can put some personality into it, and blogs with catchy names get me more than a person's name. Great examples are:

lipsticks and lightsabers [she stopped blogging, boo.]
musings of a muse [I don't always agree with her level of love for sparkle, but it's a well done blog]
temptalia [as Brianna said above, it's uniquely hers and catchy]

Short phrases or unique names are also fun in the blogging world... that's how I came up with mine: www.kabukivoodoo.com [kabuki brushes and makeup magic!] - but random enough so it's playful. Try it out for yourself by just looking up words via thesaurus and you'll find your niche! Good luck.

This post was EXTREMELY helpful! I started my blog last week with a generic title featuring "beauty", "health", and "fitness" in it. I found this post and found it so helpful! I didn't even realize how many beauty blogs are out there with "beauty" or "makeup" in the title! I played around with a few things and came up with Rather Charming! I also changed my web address to match it! http://razzledazzlecharming.blogspot.com/

I wouldn't use your real name, and full title name as it appears on your license, or ID, birth certificate...just saying...for safety. If your blog succeeds, keep in mind, there are some odd ppl out there, that can hurt others for no reason at all. Also don't post PO boxes, etc...it might end up in the wrong hands...either way you are now trackable to the world. Turn off Twitter locations...redirect area codes. As for names...something that is unqiue, and explains why you are on YouTube. Don't go with versions of names that are commonly taken.

@ Grace I didn't even think of that! I am not using my real name but do need to change my locations up. That is such an important tip!

Saramazing Beauty Blog- Saramazing Beauty Reviews- Sorry, just thought I'd give it a try but, it is kind of cute, lol ;) Good luck!

You could also go with how you feel about beauty or how you would like others to feel. That's how I came up with mine "I'm Feeeling Gorgeous" http://ifeelinggorgeous.com
Hope this helps!

My blog name is ColourByMakeup, which is a play on words :) my mum loved colour by numbers as a child, and the idea of it made me think of tutorials - they are step by step and pretty straightforward :) I also love bright colours, so it works both ways :) Think of the things that make you, you: what music/books you like --(-petrilude is a basement jaxx song :P) What games/toys you love (like my blog name) or general things in makeup, like kabukivoodoo!

Good luck! :)

@LeAnn B. I saw a big guru recently get her name splashed all over Guru Gossip, full title and adress bc she didn't consider her safety.

^Yup! Oh, and for those with blog domains: don't use your real name in the info bar when signing up for one! Anyone with a basic understanding of spam and email security can get your full name and location by typing in a few key commands! My bf showed me and I was horrified! You'd think godaddy.com would have a way to hide this...

Haha... Thanks for the mention, Zoe! I'll have to post a new article on my blog just for that!
