My local beauty college now does a air brush makeup course. They use Temptu. Its $950 for the course, though I get 10% off because I used to be a student & that comes with the Temptu air brush system plus everything else you need. Is air brush makeup that good? What are your thoughts about it? Does the course seem to expensive? :)
Update: I found out what comes in the kit...
Temptu S-One Air brush kit contains: Temptu SP-35 Air brush gun,
Temptu S-One Compressor, S/B Silicone Foundation 7.5ml x 12 Bottles, S/B Silicone Blush Highlighter 7.5ml x 7 Bottles, Aqua Adjuster Starter 7.5ml x 7 Bottles, Temptu S/B Concealer Wheel, Airbrush Cleaning Kit, Airbrush Moisturizer, S/B Primer, S/B Airbrush Cleaner.

First of all..950 for an airbrush course is way too high. While temptu makes nice airbrush makeup, they don't make good air compressors and guns.
I hate airbrush, i hate everything about it. But I have to offer it or else I'd lose clients. Airbrush makeup accentuates all fine lines and pores, it provides next to no coverage yet looks cakey at the same time. it's ugly. But you have to be able to do it because clients don't know what airbrush makeup is really about, they just go along with the hype. 9 times out of 10 i talk them out of wanting airbrush foundation at the trial when i do regular makeup and airbrush makeup to show them the difference.
All of that being said, mac offers a 6 hour airbrush class that's great. The class is essentially free. They require you to pre-pay for a $400 gift card to enroll in the class, but then after the class is over, you can use that $400 to get products. ( you can buy a LOT with $400 and a mac pro discount)
I highly recommend going that route

Wow thank you so much for the feedback. This is vital info I need before I go ahead & pay for something I may not even like. And this is why I love Beautylish so much.
That is very interesting about MAC, I'll have to see if they do it over here in Australia, I'm assuming they would though. Training & $400 to spend on MAC sounds lovely :p
So thank you again Lauren, your pro website is gorgeous by the way :) x x

I agree... Temptu systems aren't the best on the market, and there are plenty of cheaper alternatives for quality that exceeds that of the Temptu system.
Remember: airbrush makeup has the same shortcomings as any liquid foundation does! It is a selling point if you freelance, but that doesn't mean it lasts longer than any other liquid foundation. It all depends on your client's skin and their individual needs!
Other airbrushing systems to look into are Iwata, Dinair, OCC, etc. =D

I totally agree about Iwata compressors and guns, they are the industry leaders and have great products. If you're a mac pro member, log onto the pro site and see what the masterclass schedule is where you live.

Hi ladies! The professional temptu is totally different from the one you might have seen at sephora (which is garbage btw). I don't have that airbrush set but know other muas that use it and LOVE it. Iwata is also suppose to be good. I have a Dinair but haven't used it yet. Seems simple enough though.

I hated the temptu system honestly. Its not versital at all, i purchased the professional one and its just way to pricey and i returned because it wasnt for me. I have a Luminess Air, Dinair & OCC systems and i LOVE them hands down.
I only use professional airbrush foundations, they are better than most liquids especially for wedding. i do less touch ups especially with emotional brides or mother of the brides.. ive done my leg work for it all its worth it!! It also works very well for mature skin!!

Agree with Jordan- I bought my temptu pro system and had a class for around 900 I think. It's been a while. But I love my machine and I love how it looks on the skin. You just need to know how to apply it properly so it doesn't look gross and thick. I also love the product because it stays on clients all day and I rarely have to touch up. I opt for doing the airbush. love it
