Threading or Waxing

Today was the first time that I got my eyebrows threaded and I must say that I absolutely love this technique! In my opinion the brows look cleaner and you get a better shape with this method. SO LONG WAX_threading is my new best friend and from what I hear it last longer than waxing.

What method do you all prefer?

I like waxing a lot better than threading. I've had it done a few times by a few different people, but threading is always SO painful for me. Waxing is just one quick swipe and done, but threading seems to take forever.

But recently I started plucking my eyebrows on my own, and I like doing that the best.

Im really interested to know how well the threading technique goes down so I'm pretty glad to see this post!

So glad for you that you find it works well :D

I often see ladies having it done in shopping precincts at the mobile threading booths and always fancied a go but apparantly it hurts quite a bit...*wimpy me*, is that a true story? I know everyone's different.

Im rather regular and just pluck mine too like Maya says..I think mainly because I'm naive to the other methods.

I used to have them waxed but...for me...the results were just a quicker form of plucking really so I gave it up.

All the bestest!

@ Sally May_ the girl who did my threading was amazing! I was skeptical at first because I heard that it hurt so bad. She was very gentle and I had a great experience. I guess it all depends on the person who does it and your tolerance level. You should try it!

Thanks Leslie, you're absolutely right! Why not, everythings worth a try as long as its not harming you right? Hehe thanks for the reassurance :D

@ Sally May_ If you try it let me know how it turns out good or bad. :~)

I did get the threading done and didn't care for it. I'll stick to waxing and plucking. Cheaper and easier.

I've been growing my eyebrows in for nearly 6months now and I'm terrified threading will screw them up!

Threading is much more painful than waxing, but if you have sensitive skin like mine, threading and plucking are the only option. I can't use wax on my brows otherwise I end up with really really red spots from the heat that take a day to go away.

Threading all the way! I used to wax but would hate how it would rip off a layer of skin and make the skin under my brows much lighter. I would get bumps too which is just not cute. With threading, I'll tear up a little but my brows n 'stache will be cleaned up in less than 10 minutes and have no irritation.

If you're in SoCal, I get mine done by Gia at Vinita's in Sherman Oaks. She's fast and does a great job.

I wax my brows and it works perfectly fine for me but I've always been interested in threading. Have any of you seen longer lasting results with threading?

The first time I threaded my eyebrows it was a painful experience. I thought all the people who said it didn't hurt were liars. I loved the outcome, but I really contemplated on going back to waxing. My thought, it would only hurt initially that second they rip the strip from your skin.

I got my eyebrows waxed after about half a year (I couldn't find another company that did threading in Haawii). BUT I remember why I didn't like waxing. People tend to make eyebrows thin, and I want a more fuller look.

So I had to grow my eyebrows another 6 months or so, and I'm glad more threading businesses opened up in Hawaii. I was very hesitant, but let me tell you, if the person knows how to thread, there is NO pain. I was like WOW I'm done... I fell in love with threading. I loved how they got all my stray hairs, hairs that some waxing leaves behind. And I loved how groomed it looked.

So from that moment on, threading is my only way to go. (I gave up plucking years ago...)

Funny you should post this. I got mine threaded today for the first time as well and loved how nice and even they came out. And to to top it off it's suppose to last longer. Marking my calendar, lol. I will continue to have them threaded!

i like waxing most of the area that you know needs to be removed, then threading for closer to the brows, for getting a nice, crisp clean line.

I prefer plucking and waxing. i had my brows threaded once and although the result was great, it was much too painful for me! My eyes water at just the thought of it! Maybe wear waterproof mascara when you do it? Waxing hurts as well but it is over faster than threading. I like my eyebrows to be natural though, so I like the result of just plucking unwanted extras.

I personally do not prefer any hot waxy substance on my face (or maybe just afraid of it). I am doing my own eyebrows since my teenage years, and I prefer threading it and then tweezing short hard to reach ones to finish it. ;)

@Sydney R_ It's been about 2 1/2 weeks now and my brows still look good. I am going back next week.

I've never gotten my eyebrows waxed out of fear. But i recently go them threaded twice.I teared up so bad, but i wasnt crying lol! I wanted more of a shape but the ladies kind of just did there own thing, which i didnt like at all. Idk but the place i went the ladies arent really friendly at all. not one smile :/ but overall it was alright. I would definatly get it done again but with some more friendlier faces. But for now im gonna stick to plucking :

I wax but I have recently went with a friend that had her eyebrows threaded. And I really want to try it out the next time I need my eyebrows done.

Threading! It's natural, quick, less painful than waxing, and lasts. I get mine don't every two-three weeks and leave satisfied every time! It leaves a perfect hairline, which I love, and it's easier than tweezing.
