I'd go with the bb cream if you're just starting with makeup, if you're not I'd go with the foundation.

Bb (blemish balm) is to cover the red blemishes on your skin which has a higher you've protection than foundation

@Kate: The BB in BB Cream stands for Beauty Balm, not Blemish Balm. BB Cream is more so meant to provide light coverage while repairing your skin. Depending on the BB cream it could be moisturizing or brightening or anti-aging.

Bb cream is a waaaaay lighter coverage but it also is much better for your skin... I use bb cream with a powder concealer and powder over top... And that usually makes up for the coverage the bb cream lacks... I like wearing it in the summer cuz it is light and has spf... It is also long lasting
