How to revive my gel liner?

My poor liner dried out after i didn't properly close the lid. Is there any trick to bring it back or would it be best to toss it.

Honestly, I just mushed mine up with the end of a brush, and now it's like brand new. It's only the surface that's dried out after all! Even if it's not so pretty in the pot anymore, once it's on a brush it doesn't make a difference.
