Making old hair curler to wand+what kind of curls.

I'm making a hair curler I've had for a few years that never worked into a wand. I'm going to take the clamp off. I was wondering of that'll work? And what kind of curls can I get? It sorta looks like this but kinda old v.

Yes it will work. It will also work with the clamp just wrap over it.

You don't have to take off the clamp just don't use the clamp!
