Does anyone have eczema and is yours acting up due to the dry air?
I read somewhere that eczema flare up when immune systems are down? I know I'm going through some things in my life that is bringing me down. I also read that UV therapy helps (two thumbs up for tanning beds) and having a special diet? No lotions are working and I am scratching until I bleed or have "raw" skin
PLEASE... Help me. I'm really uncomfortable and somehow it gets worse

Have you tried the cream Exederm? I don't have eczema but I had this huge scab on my face that made my whole chon dried out, so I mistakingly used tea tree oil and it dried it up do bad or was half raw half scab (ew I know)... so at RiteAid I found this amazing cream for eczema in the first aid area and it made the dryness disappear in like 2 days and it finally healed. Now I use of whenever I feel like my skin is dry. it says on it 'flare control' so maybe you could try it. it might work for ya. I believe it was around ten bucks.

I have it very bad on my hands.being a hairdresser is the worst for it so I've learned to work with it the best I can. Mine would get so bad I couldn't even bend my hand or fingers so I feel your pain. I don't eat eggs or drink cow milk my doctor gave me information and these were a couple of foods to stay away from. Also I got this pine tar soap and it worked amazingly no stinging or burning and helped with healing. But if nothing helps I have also gotten steroid creams and a steroid shot and they help in a last ditch effort but I prefer natural solutions. Hope it helps :) I know how miserable and embarrassing it can be.

Thank you all. I've been using aveeno's baby lotion for eczema. It's worse on my legs. I also use this lotion called Keri and Vaseline total moisture (aloe fresh) lotion and it's just not working

My daughter gets bad eczema, well before I learned how to treat it. baby aveeno oatmeal baths help. Aquaphor works awesome and the vaseline lotion with vitamin E. Also try the Neosporin lotion for eczema. The thing that I learned with my daughter is that I have to switch up the lotions every now and then or else they will no longer be effective. Keep moisturized at all times and maybe you gentle or natural soaps.

Oh no matter what don't scratch juat rub lotion on it or gently tap the areas. That is what I do with my daughter because she used to hide and scratch til she bles.

I have eczema, I don't put any products on it as it tends to flair it up again but I do have 'bleach baths' when it starts to it I run a bath (quite full) and add a CAPFUL of bleach under the tap and get in for 15mins. (don't submerge head and tie hair up) stops the itching and leaves me feeling relieved ready for bed where I don't itch myself to sleep! apparently (look this up if you like) a natural bacteria on the skin can irritate people with eczema and the bleach kills it. don't get me wrong this isnt for everyone but it worked wonders for me had a very hard year last year with eczema but it hardly bothers me now!

Have you've tried cortizone? That's what I use when my eczema flares up. The aveeno lotion did not work for me but the cortizone did

Diet is a great start. I'm nutritionist and doctor myself. zinc creme is very good idea to apply on skin or take as a tablet. using steriod cream such as cortizone not good. it may appears working, in long term it worsens the issue and thins the skin. I'm not big fan of drugs. there are types of eczemas bacterial allergical even occupational and so on. and tests. commonly eczemas connected to gut problem digestive problem bloating blench pain.. if you experince that it could be food sensitivity that causes eczema.

I use triamcinolone <-- I think that's how it's spelled. And for moisturizer, I use aveeno lotion after showers. My doctor recommends 5 times a day but I don't need it.

Talk to your doctor about triamcinolone ointment because it's amazing.

I have taken refuge in Vanicream! On top of eczema I am allergic to lanolin which is in most lotions. Vanicream makes a "Free and Clear" line or products that have absolutely nothing in them! Shampoo, Conditioner, soap bars and lotion. I also have prescribed desonide (light steroid lotion) and clobetesol (steroid cream). I dilute the heavier cream in the Vanicream for legs and put straight on the cracked spots!
Those others lotions like aveeno and others have a lot of chemicals in them (believe it or not) Vanicream is free of absolutely everything and can be found on Amazon!
