So, I have dry/brittle hair. I haven't dyed my hair since april, I attempted to go back to dark dark brown after having a dark auburn. It lasted for a week and than red slowly came out. Which hair dye would you recommended? What to do to avoid red again? Help please!://///

I used the foam garnier and I really liked it....thought it covered my reddish highlights pretty good. Make sure you are getting enough dye to soak and completely cover your hair. I used 2 boxes....my hair is pretty long. Using Redken for dyed hair will def help because it's gentle and doesn't remove as much of the dye with the washes. I usually get it at JCP...it's like $20 for a giant bottle. Hope this helps ;)

i use the garnier herbashine and i love it it works great & the color lasts but it wasnt too damaging to my hair. to avoid having red hair look for the colors that have golden or warm in the name

also, when you wash your hair in the shower use hot water, it makes the red tones fade faster. toner helps too, and wash the conditioner out with cold water to seal it and help keep it from breaking/damage.

U need something w moisture to treat the dryness. Red is the hardest color to get out of hair... The darn brown would just coat it but will soon rinse off... I would go to a professional but what I would do is get a 20vol developer & a brown color you like & dye it that way. Goldwell Top Chic color is good & so is Chi color.
I'm not sure where you live but I know beauty school do the service inexpensive
