Do you know what the rule is for freelancing and then later on moving into film, photography, ect is. Do you NEED a license for just makeup or can you be just certified. I need your help. I'm trying to pick a good school to attend. I'm only interested in makeup artistry for all kinds of work.

In Florida you need to have either an esthetician or cosmetology license to free lance makeup. I know there are some schools here that offer just makeup courses and you get a certificate from that course which would be helpful for the basics of make up and they have more advanced courses for film, bridal, etc. I have my esthetician license, unless you are also interested in skin care I would suggest just getting certificates in some make up courses since in school for esthetics, if you spend a week learning makeup it's a big deal.

Hmmm okay thank you!! Even if I get a certified I still won't be able to freelance right? Cause that's mainly what I want to do.
