i dyed my hair twice two weeks ago, and it still looks horrible. i want to dye it again but use non permanent dye instead to prevent damage. will it work?
Non permanent dye is often times just as harmful if you are not getting it done in a salon. if you are using boxed color you are ruining your hair... i would need to know a little more to tell you more but you need to look behind the bottle find a Paul Mitchell salon or School near you!
Non permanent hair dye in my opinion and experience is not as damaging as permanent. i used to use permanent but ended up with dry, damaged hair with a lot of split ends now i use non permanent and my hair is much healthier and although you may have to dye hair more often to keep the colour i find it is much better for your hair in the long run.
while permanent dye "opens" the hair to get the color inside it non-permanent dye doesn't, it "wrapes" itself around the hair, therefore it should be less damaging, but I'm not sure, just guessing
I used the non-permanent color to my hair about a month ago and oh boy, it did damage my hair but not so much (I bleached my hair twice last year with color B4 color remover). So yes, they do damage your hair :(
Non permanent dye is less damaging than permanent (especially bleach!) but it still takes it's toll. And as always, products are less harmful to virgin hair. Because you've just dyed yours, it's pretty likely that the non permanent dye will damage as much as permanent. Try going to a salon to get the dye done and use intensive hair masks to try and replenish the nutrients that your hair needs.
I would recommend going to a salon to have your color repaired. Try to find one that uses Organic Color Systems hair color. This color line is less damaging to the hair, as it contains absolutely no ammonia and is made with organic and natural ingredients. Your hair will actually be left in a healthier state, and will look amazing!
