So I have had my hair many different colors and recently decided to go back to black since it is close to my natural color. Having done this with box dye, is there any way to color over it or bleach it out? Or do I have to keep growing out my hair and continue cutting it?
Best bet is to go to a professional, I've been blonde, dyed it black and tried to be blonde again - you'll have to bleach your black hair to be able to lighten it again or you can just wait till it washes out or grows back.
Thanks for replying! I think I may go to a professional I love my hair this color but grow very bored with my hair quite fast!

DO NOT BLEACH IT! if you bleach it with a box color you will fry your hair to the point where it will be so damaged you might as well have waited. If you really want to go blonde go to a professional or if you want to do it yourself SLOWLY go back to blonde gradually lightening your hair over the next year. My friend kept coloring her hair over and over from dark to blonde and it got to the point where she had to LITERALLY cut it all off and regrow it from scratch because it was so damaged.
If you want to change your hair color alot I suggest using a demi-perm. hair color or the temp colors (the ones that wash out over time) simply because there are less damaging and depending on the brand they do stay in a while (I have used them before)
Hope this helps :) I have been coloring my own hair for years so if you have any questions let me know :)
