I've been in college since September studying makeup but lately I'm finding it too slow for me and with me having a really good job being a makeup artist I'm losing interest in wanting to complete the course...
Do I really need a qualification (I keep reminding myself bobbi brown didn't)

I don't have any accredited qualification and I am doing pretty well freelancing.

I am a MAC certified artist. I didn't have any formal training when I got hired on. But you do have to pass an examination. To me they're the only makeup company that actually trains you to do makeup and not to just sell it. Now I'm a freelancer and it's my credentials that get me all my work. I would say get a degree from a very reputable place, work p/t on a counter build up your book with every face you do and then start freelancing. Because you have to show people what you can do and the more you have in your hat the more you can charge. Good luck!
