I just bought the Naked Foundation from Urban decay and I like the finish (on me since I am combo it's kinda semi-matte) but I am wondering if it's okay or normal to own more than one foundation and to alternate between them? Since they are expensive I am wondering how many do you guys own? and which ones are your faves (especially for full coverage)? I am hoping to buy something fuller coverage
I always have a few because i'm constantly testing out new ones and I have a bad habit of losing receipts so I absolutely never return anything, lol. I think it's totally cool to own more than a few, some people even mix theirs together!
I use ulta's illuminating liquid foundation or maybelline's dream mousse for everyday.. if I have a tan(either real or self-tan which I do frequently) i'll usually use my mac studio fix fluid and if I want more coverage i'll use my bare minerals foundation ontop of that. If I want full-coverage I use dermablend..it literally covers everything and I like it because I never have to use concealer!
I own probably like 12 different foundations. most of them give me a different finish & different color on my skin. so I use them depending on how I want my skin to look that day. & how heavy or light I wants coverage. I also use them to mix the colors together just incase I get a little color one day, I have the perfect match
i think every one should own a few diff foundations and the foundations dont have to coast alot for what you are looking for most of mine are from the drug store i dont own any thing from mac or ulta or tarte or any thing but i like a few diff foundations are a must
I have quite a few too, I actually use two different types and shades of foundation on myself...
I use my Lancome bisque 6w on the outline of my face and cheeks then my Samashbox studio 2.1 to fill up the rest. Why? Basically the bisque 6w has a nice tan look for summer, I love the finish look it gives, last just as long at the smashbox studio, but my real color is with smashbox!
I have about 10 different foundations, I've tried all of them and depending on what I'm wearing and where im going/weather. It's good to have multiple! :)
I think you should own a few. I have MAC's prolong wear for nights on the town when I know I will be clubing and doing a lot of sweating. I have Studio Fix powder for the days I just want to use a powder. I also have MUF HD and Nars because they are sooooo light weight and when I mix them with my moisterizer I get a TM that is very light so sorry to ramble but yes I have plenty and use all of them.
Yes! there's nothing wrong with owning more than 1 foundation, i own 8 different kinds, others have more. How do you like the new UD Naked Skin? review please, thank you :-)
Thanks ladies!!!! @Mary I LOVE IT! It's medium buildable coverage. As far as the finish I use it with a mattifying lotion so it leaves me with a semi-matte finish which I love it gives me the option to stay a bit dewy or just set with a mattifying powder. I like having SOME glow and not being completely matte. I love that when you touch your skin it feels like you have nothing on and the finish again is beautiful. A little goes a long way. And it stays on the whole day for me (I have combo skin). I also have the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer.
QUESTION: Do you ladies know of a good oil free moisturizer I can use under my makeup? The Dr. Murad one I am using now is toooo drying.
I own three foundations. My most used is the elf Tinted Moisturizer because I live in Florida... and the sun is always there. Plus it's easy to apply with your fingers. It's light to medium coverage but works beautifully for me. The second most used foundation I have is the MAC Studio Fix Fluid. Wish I could use this more, but like I said, I live in Florida. This foundation to me feels pretty heavy but it gives full coverage - and it looks absolutely flawless. (Coming from a girl who has bad acne and rosacea). The least used one I have is the Mary Kay mineral powder, and I say least used only because I have only used it twice. From what I saw it gives medium coverage, but I really haven't seen what it does under the sun. :)
I have two: bare minerals' original in fairly light and larenim's goth one in pallor. I'll probably get the color correcting powders from purely minerals to tweak my BM one, as they double as concealer and altering mineral foundation
i have one tinted moisturiser from no7 and one foundation thats really not that good its from nyc and i in a very awkward shape bottle i go with my no7.
I had a Laura Mercier one I was using, then decided to try the MUFE HD and fell in love. So now I have the two of them, and when I run out of MUFE I use LM. I also have a BB cream that I use sometimes when my skin is really dry. I'd say it's completely normal to own more than one!
Writing to answer the question literally, you may own more than one if you wish but are under no obligation to do so. ;) Stepping away from Captain Obvious for a moment, it's your makeup! Whatever mix will make you happy is perfect!
I currently own at least five different foundations, and am considering one or two more (I'm picky, lol). I have both liquids and powders, because I like the liquid most of the time but the powder foundations hold up better under the intense heat and humidity of our charming Chicago summers. Also, I have warmer and cooler powder foundations because I like to put the warmer one under my eyes to help cancel out my dark circles and I'll use the (correct) cooler color all over my face. It's tough to find good coverage and shades when you're this pale, so sometimes I have to play around a bit.
I think that it's perfectly normal to own several different foundations; if nothing else, we need to accommodate seasonal skin needs. Sometimes you'll want a more full-coverage foundation, sometimes you might prefer a lighter, more natural look. As long as you're actually using everything you own, it's the right number of product options for you.

I would if you can't find a good color match or one for hot weather and one for cold

A lot of people say have at least two foundations. One for colder seasons and one for warmer seasons because you will get lighter and darker.
I just use tinted moisturizer and only have one. I'm not interested in having more than one face product.

The best moisturizer is the beauty fluid from Olaz. It's waterbased and very gentle!
