A couple months ago I got my first pack of NEW brushes (before it was my sisters old hand me downs😪) but I'm a makeup noob so I have NO IDEA what most of these brushes are and what they are used for. Some of them I've figured out and have used, like the eyeliner one, but the rest I have no clue. Thank you!

First to the right seems to be a shadow brush, 3rd shadow snd eyeliner on the other side, 4rth angeled brush (for shadow liner) 6th is a spooly used to brush brows. 7th seems like a foundation brush. 8th and 9th shadow. I see a few othe liner brushes and shadow (:

From all the brushes I've collected and free ones I've accumulated, I don't care what a brush is supposed to be for, I just use the the most effective brush for the job. Just figure out the look you are trying to achieve and use the brush that you think will best do the job. With brushes, you sometimes have to think outside the box, because everyone's face is different and everyone's skill level Is different.

I agree with Marleen, I think I have more brushes I have a different use for, than ones I use the intended way. You can certainly learn their intended use for guidance, but I would recommend just playing around with them and see what feels natural to you.

It's hard to tell by the picture, but is the first brush slightly angled? If so this is your crease/contour brush. It is used to apply shadow to the crease (where your eye sinks in) and can also be used on the outer "V" of the eye to create definition. The second brush appears to be a "round flat shader brush." This would be used to stipple on powder I believe (I never use mine that comes in my set). The third is a fine tip liner brush. Use this brush with gel eyeliner to create a thin line. 4th brush is an angled liner/definer. You can use this one to apply eyeliner or brow products. 5th is a sponge tip applicator. I prefer to toss these, but sometimes they can come in handy for packing on pigment/shadow to the eyelid. 6th brush is a Spoolie brush. It's used to separate lashes or grooming brows (one brush I can't live without). 7th brush is a foundation brush. Use to apply liquid or cream foundation. Shockingly enough I have actually used a foundation brush with powder as well, but w/e. 8th brush is a lip liner/definer brush. You can use it with lipstick to line or fill in your lips. 9th appears to be a dense definer/smudge brush that can be used to smudge the liner under the eyes for a smokey look, or used to apply shadow to smaller more precise areas (thick inner corner of the eye). 10th brush seems like an angled brow/liner brush. I don't really seem a point of this one if you have a flat topped one much like 13th brush. 11th Brush is a large shader brush. Use this brush to apply shadow to eyelids or brow bone (commonly just eyelids). 12th brush is a pencil brush. Use this to smudge out liner for a smokey eye. 13th (see previous statement). 14th looks like a very small concealer/definition brush. Use for applying product to small areas for coverage or high-pigmentation/definition. 15th is an angled liner brush. This one is shorter than the previous one and will be more dense. I prefer to use this type of brush to define my brows. 16th looks like a smaller pencil brush to me. 17 is another small liner brush for gel liner. 18th sponge tip applicator. 19 is a shader/concealer brush. Use to apply concealer or shadow to the eyes/face. Lastly the one of the end looks like another lip definer brush. Like I said it's hard to tell, and I'm not an expert but I have used my fair share of brushes and work for a company that sells makeup brushes, makeup and skincare so I know a little bit about them. Anyways, hope this helps! :)

Well there's more than one way to skin a cat. and since most of those are eye brushes I can be of help. The basics for a nice eye shadow application is a shader brush to pack on color to the lid more intensely, a blending brush for the colors you want to blend in and above the crease, a crease brush, to add that darker color in the crease to add depth to the eye, and the pencil brush to add color on the lower lashline.
