Hey, just a heads up, this thread should go under Skincare, not Beauty. When You create a topic, you have a drop menu that asks you what category you want to choose. It's very important to sort your thread otherwise it can get lost in the mist.

I'll be moving this to Skincare now, but next time you'll have to do it in the first place ;)

Get an eye cream with a retinol. Roc makes a good one that's for sensitive skin, it's best for people starting out with retinols because it's more gentle...for some people retinol can make their skin burn, flake, & turn red. Sometimes though those symptoms are temporary until your skin gets used to it (for me it was a warm, tingly feeling that bordered on uncomfortable, but I don't have a problem now). Retinol is great at helping diminish wrinkles & dark circles.

Other good tips for preventing eye wrinkles is to always wear sunglasses outside to prevent squinting for long periods of time, be extra gentle when taking off your makeup, and don't viciously rub them!

I also agree on the retinol eye cream. I'm loving Philosophy Miracle Worker right now. Also, try not to squint. Always wear sunglasses when in daylight even when there's no sun. Also a rich eye cream or eye balm at night to help retain the moisture in your skin around they eye. Try to use a product that doesn't evaporate too much. Wrinkles can appear more pronounced when the skin is dry.

Because you state your skin was great up until 2 months ago, I don't think what you are seeing are lines forming that rapidly from aging. Collagen breaks down and wrinkles do occur as we age, but the rapid pace at which you are seeing lines appear lead me to suspect that you have dry eyes. Dry eyes accentuate every little line. Sometimes our cosmetics can worsen the appearance as well.

I agree on the Retinol suggestions, but you need to introduce that slowly...perhaps every 3rd day (and use with broad spectrum sun protection). If not, you increase dryness, exaggerating lines once again. While Retinol will encourage cell turnover and stimulate collagen, I suggest a broader regimen.

Retinol
Dedicated days and products to moisturize
Facial oils (a toner is a bonus)

Vitamin C serum or a Vitamin C product in the eye area is a great way to bring brightness while combating aging. I use a C serum and a Ascorbic "powder to cream" product in my eye area. This pairs very well with Hyaluronic Acid based products. (Paula's Choice has a booster, but CeraVe also contains it). I find this to be plumping for my own skin.
You can use Maracjua oil cut with a little Vitamin E to extend shelf life. Maracjua is often sold under the less pricey name "Passion Fruit Oil". It pairs very well with Vitamin E. Jojoba, Evening Primrose, Squalane..these can all be used in the eye area. You may want to use one facial oil that contains several beneficial oils in the formulation. I believe we have a few members here that are fond of the Indie Lee facial oil, but if that's out of budget, you can simply use cold pressed varieties of the above suggested oils. We have a Mod, Kitty, who has long encouraged Squalane and I know my own Derm's line has it in some of their replenishing and repairing products. (Two of which I use.) The NOW brand of facial oils has some good offerings for certain facial oils.

A rich undereye treatment free from perfumes or fragrant oils will also help. This doesn't' mean you need to purchase a separate eye product. CeraVe PM and CeraVe in the Jar are both safe for the eye area and offer various levels of hydration. You can use them on your entire face.

The Alpha Hydrox (Alpha Skincare) line has a few great products using an AHA (Glycolic Acid) that will exfoliate the eye area and help you keep skin looking it's best while stimulating collagen. I recommend avoiding the lid and tear duct, feathering it in carefully with a Q-tip. After applying, I'd let it sit for about 20 minutes and then tap on a moisturizer.

Watch you aren't tugging at the delicate eye area. I can't say enough about how a silk pillowcase has helped my dry skin as well as my hair. Look to avoid drying products in the eye area...cutting back on the amount of powder you may be using, make-up removers that may be stripping your skin of precious oils, high alcohol setting sprays, etc. I'd keep my eye products to all cotton. I use Paula's Recovery toner beneath my eyes without any stinging or issue; this helps replenish moisture. Also, incorporating a hydrating mist after applying make-up, such as MAC Fix + may be something worth looking into. This isn't going to extend wear, but it will offer some additional hydration if your skin is feeling or looking dry. Also, look for hydrating cosmetics for use around the eye area. You don't want a concealer or foundation that will dry eyes or settle into fine lines.

Always finish by being sure to have proper sunblock and sunglasses. Hope that helps.
