No matter what I do, my brush always leave stroke marks on my face after I do my foundation. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong or how I can stop it? I also use a primer everyday if that matters at all.

What foundation and brush are you using? How are you applying it?

I usually use the L'Oreal Infallible Matte foundation and the Real Techniques Buffing Brush.

Oh and I tend to just go in circular motions around my face. I've never really known any other way of applying it.

My mac buffing brush leaves brush marks on me sometimes too, I find it best to buff it in as best I can then get rid of the lines by dabbing my face with a sponge or a beauty blender.

Are you dotting the foundation into your skin first or dipping the brush straight into the product? I found with that brush and certain foundations if I just dip the brush into the foundation it soaks up too much product and doesn't blend well enough.

Agreed with Alexis! You van also just use a beauty blender or some kind of sponge, that helped for me when I had the same problem when using a flat foundation brush.

How often do you wash your brush?

If you don't wash it often (I wash my foundation brushes with a spot brush cleanser after almost every use, and deep cleanse every week) the product will build up, causing a streaky application as well as bacteria growth that can cause breakouts.

I have experienced the same thing with that brush because of what Alexis said. I find that dabbing the foundation on my face before blending it out prevents streaks being left. If I'm building the foundation up for more coverage I will sometimes wipe the brush off on a tissue between layers to remove the build up on the brush.

I'm currently using that foindation and I got to say its really good, that being said I find that the best way to make it work is with a beauty blender, trust be a beauty blender is a life savor for this foundatio

Maybe re evaluate the primer you're using. It may not be emollient enough or the formula is not meshing well with the foundation formula. Also, try using a little less foundation and possibly changing your brush. Maybe a denser brush like the Morphe 439 may work better. The RT Buffing brush, has a little give that may not make it conducive to thicker foundations. Not only is the Morphe 439 denser with more bristles, it also has a bigger head.

Try a sponge with that foundation. I find the finish isn't great when I use a brush with that foundation. But a damp sponge & stippling motions gives a beautiful finish.

Instead of going in circular motions try stippling it on your face. No swiping just pat it on your face

I totally agree with Viviana... that is how I always do mine and I have never had a problem! Just dab the brush and you will get a smooth application!

I would make sure you're washing your brush more often. When there's build up on it, it can cause a streaky finish

I buff and then just use a beauty blender afterward to blend out any missed lines. Even if it isn't streaky I still use the beauty blender because you can really never blend enough lol.

I finally got to play with the L'Oreal Infallible Matte foundation, and it's quite nice. In my opinion, although it is silicone formula, you have to be quick when it comes to blending this one because it sets quickly, and once it sets, it is what it is.

With this one, I dabbed a bit of the foundation on my nose, my forehead, my cheeks and on the sides of my nose and blended it out with a standard paddle foundation brush in an outwards fashion. Once my skin was covered, I took my flat paddle and jut moved the brush in downwards strokes. No streaks.  :)
