Once I get my taxes I plan on doing an extreme change to my hair! I don't want to give too much away, I want it to be a surprise, but what I will say is I'm doing an all over unnatural color!

I've never had a full head of unnaturally colored hair so I'm looking for recommendations for color safe shampoos that I can order from Sephora. I've already decided that I'll be getting Overtone for conditioner so I just need shampoo suggestions.

So I enjoy trying out new hair products like crazy, and there are 3 from sephora that I consistently come back to. Also super excited to see your new hair.
1. The bumble and bumble color safe shampoo. It leaves my hair incredibly clean without drying it out, and it let's me go a week or so without washing. It minimally fades my hair colors and I really enjoy the look and feel of my hair afterwards. It can get a little drying over time but I find a good conditioner solves that quickly. I would definitely recommend it.

I don't have a Sephora recommendation, since I use a color safe shampoo by Shea Moisture, but will you keep us posted on how Overtone works for you? I recently went bluish purple but I've been thinking about getting Overtone when I touch it up, since it faded pretty fast.

2. The alterna bamboo smooth shampoo. This one moisturizes more than the BB one but it doesn't get *as* clean. It still cleans the scalp and hair wonderfully but I can only go 4-5 days after washing with this one. I do prefer it as it leaves my hair incredibly soft and manageable, my waves don't get frizzy and I don't have any issues with hard to brush areas in my thick hair ever with this shampoo. I don't feel like I need to deep condition every time I wash. It's never faded my color quickly and it is color safe but I do find reds fade away quicker than with the BB shampoo. Nothing super noticeable but touch ups are needed within 5-6 weeks rather than 7-8 weeks. Apparently people on sephora really hate the bottle but I don't know what it's like, I only ever get the travel size and it's just a regular squeeze bottle. The sephora near me doesn't carry the full size and I never order online. This one is definitely my favorite but if you have oily hair I'd go with the BB one. I'd also wait till after you bleach to see what kind of hair you have afterwards. I had oily curls till I bleached and now I have dry waves.

And last one. The verb hydrating shampoo. I love this one, but I only use it on weeks where I'm going to need to wash my hair often. It's super hydrating, and so my scalp builds up oils quickly on it. So I take it on weeks where I swim a lot and need to rinse out the chlorine, or if I have been working out a lot and plan to again the next day. It's almost like a conditioner. It makes my hair very soft and brushable but I can only go 1-2 days on it. I really like this for right after bleaching as well. This and a heavy mask and it feels like it hasn't been bleached, the moisture is right back at it. If I was fine with washing every day or two and didn't mind my hair feeling greasy after a couple days then this would be my every day shampoo, but I am lazy and have super thick hair so it's not worth the effort for me lol. I do think if you have oily hair this would be a good way to train it to not produce oils as quick, since the shampoo gives them to you while it washes, but it's super gentle and good for my sensitive scalp days.

I hope these helped. I've tried a ton from sephora and these are the 3 that I keep at least a travel sized product in my shower at least a few times a year lol.

I do really like the bumble and bumble one, as long as you have a good conditioner I don't think you can go wrong with it. :)

If you are going for a fashion color, I really recommend pravana's shampoo and conditioner specifically designed to maintain those type of colors.

I used to work for a salon that sold Bumble & Bumble, and their color safe shampoo honesty is one of the best. I've always loved their shampoos because they all smell so, so nice. Another good thing with theirs is that you really don't need a lot, so even though the bottle is small it will last you a long time.
