I'm unsure here if there is a real question or if you are just looking for people to follow you.
Back to your titled question. I've never used Nars foundation so I have no opinion there.
For mac products your best bet will be studio sculpt, face and body or mineralize. Studio sculpt will have the most coverage of the three while face and fody and mineralize are buildable. Sculpt has an spf of 15 has medium to full coverage and the finish is natural-satin it also contains shea butter so it's extremely hydrating and great for dry or dehydrated skin. Face and body (8 hr wear) has sheer coverage a natural-satin finish and has film formers making it transfer resistant. It also has emollients which provides immediate moisture, sits on top of the skin and helps retain water. Mineralize also has spf this one is 15 it provides a sheer medium coverage and has a natural satin finish. 8 hour wear and helps hydrate the skin using beet root extract and shea butter.

Maranda, why limit choices to MAC and Nars? MUFE Face & Body is fantastic for dryer skin and is water resistant, slightly lyminous, long wearing and is buildable to medium.

Maranda, I use Mac prolong wear and I love it. My skin is VERY dry and this gives me a dewy finish then I top it off with Mac mineralized powder which is also good for dry skin.
Mars luminous foundation and sheer glow is also good for dry skin.
