Seeing my dermatologist was the best decision I've ever made. I had horrible cystic acne last summer and my skin was so oily, my makeup would slide off my face throughout the day. Now my skin is completely clear and my acne scars barely show. My face isn't oily anymore, nor is it dry! It's amazing! I had hormonal acne and my doc put me on an antibiotic and spironolactone and it's been a wonder combination for me. They wanted me to go on accutane but I said no, and I'm so glad I did. If you have hormonal acne, ask your doctor about spironolactone!
And from what I remember, my insurance covered a lot of the costs.
