I'm a natural blonde that went dark about a year ago. I've been a dark brunette ever since. However every time I dye my hair, I get my hairstylist to do it. BUT my roots are starting to show and I'm wondering if dying it myself will be all that bad. Opinions?

I think you should dye it yourself I think it would be a great experience for you to try it and I'm sure the color would come out as great(:

If you're just doing your roots from blonde to brown I say go for it. There are kits you can specifically for roots so you don't waste so much dye too

I say do it yourself once. If you do it from the box and dislike the result then you only spent $10 or less and the hairstylist can fix it most likely :) I dye my own hair and I prefer to do it that way. Try it! Either you love it and save a little money, or you don't like it and the hairstylist fixes it :) Go for it Hun!

And if you want to know any good hair color brands, Garnier has a great selection!

No no!! Never with box dyes!! I'm all for doing it yourself but definitely don't go for it with drugstore hair color, I would get some color from Sally's and try one of their permanent colors.
