Debating between these two foundations: revlon colorstay or loreal true match

age: 14 (if that helps)

skin type: normal-dry / not sensitive

desired coverage: medium-full

I am mainly looking for a foundation that will look good and smooth on skin and not cling to my dry patches around my nose. plus, I want it to last a whole school day! I've heard great things about both and am now asking you what you think!

thank you 😊

Loreal tru match is better for colder months in my opinion, but it does cling to dry patches. Revlon is way too heavy for everyday wear, in my opinion. If you like a dewy finish, Rimmel match perfection is quite nice. Has good coverage and you can always use concealer for what wasn't covered by foundation. Honestly, it's all trial and error with foundations especially drugstore, so I'd try at your own risk with any.

I use the combo oily skin version of Colorstay, and I apply mine with a RT sponge to sheer it out just a little. It doesn't FEEL or LOOK heavy on the face when applied, but the dry skin formula could be different

I have normal dry skin as well and have tried both. I prefer high end foundations and up until a few months ago never even bought a drugstore foundation until I decided I wanted something for shorter days, errands, etc. Yes, the color stay can be thick and cling to dry patches but I have a great skincare routine & prep my skin well. I use it with a damp beauty blender. The true match is lighter and I apply it with a buffing brush then my beauty blender. I'd try out both because it just depends on your skin and preferences. I have the rimmel match perfection as well I think, I bought all 3 the same day and don't use them much but only because I prefer my higher end ones but honestly I feel they all do the job & I'm very picky.

I definetly wouldnt get Colorstay because it will look very cakey and it will cling to your dry patches big time. Loreal True Match woykd be better but its demi-matte finish has a tendency of showing dry patches. I woukd honesly say don't choose either of them and pick Maybelline Fit Me Dewy+Smooth. It will make your skin look very smooth and glowy. And it has a dewy finish which is much better at hydrating and concealing dry skin. Remember to use a good moisturizer, facial oil, and primer to 100% smooth your dry skin.

I heard through twitter that L'Or?al tests their products on animals... I've always used Colorstay.

Out of the two, I prefer Revlon colorstay for dry skin. I have found that although it is a bit of a heavier formula, it is easily sheered out. I actually use it often; HOWEVER, if you want a really nice smoothing, moisturizing drugstore foundation, I recommend the L'Oreal Magic Lumi foundation, it is my favorite drugstore foundation, especially in regard to how it applies.:)

I didn't like the loreal magic lumi foundation 😕 maybe it was because it had spf, but thanks everyone for all the answers!

I love revlon color stay. For a drug store product, it's pretty good.
