Overrated: definitely the naked palettes by urban decay. Naked 1 is my favorite. But the other two aren't great quality. The mattes (well they barely have mattes) are chalky, and the shimmer shades aren't pigmented.

Too faced better than sex did NOTHING for me. Neither did Tarte light camera splashes. I also am going to be completely honest and say that I do not care for Mac shadows!! They're very so so to me. Underrated would probably be most of milanis products! I love them

Underrated: I think that colourpop cosmetics is definitely underrated. Although everything is only $5, they have the most pigmented eyeshadows I've ever used. They're not too sparkly (at least for me) and their mattes are really creamy. I also love their lip products

I don't know the exact brand but my sister bought a generic mall kiosk hair straightener for around $90.00 a few years ago. This was priced so high because it had ceramic plates and could "straighten and curl!" (This was before the whole flat iron curl Pinterest thing).

It seemed like a normal straightener at the time and worked fine for a year. Then, in the second year the plates crapped it and started burning hair, and in the 3rd year it completely broke and stopped working.

This wouldn't't be such an injustice if we hadn't googled the brand to buy a replacement and found that they were selling them for $5.00 a piece on alibaba. The exact same straighteners.

Moral of story: if you're going to splurge 90+ doles do yourself a favor and buy a nice flat iron.

That's crazy about the naked palletes, Kaitlin, so many people rave about them! I personally love mattes.
I've heard that about the mascara Julie! I love Milani lip liners!

One brand I think is really underrated is Pixi by Petra from target. I've tried their under eye corrector, eyeshadow palettes, and liners and am completely blown away by how great they are for the price. They are on the more expensive side for a drugstore brand, but I could easily see this at ulta or sephora for twice as much. Seriously girls, check out their undereye corrector. It is incredible.

Aww nooo! I love RT brushes, although I don't own my own yet. I've heard that they soak up a lot of product though. I need to check out that foundation though!

I got a duo shadow from pixi by petra in my ipsy bag and I wasn't a fan, maybe it was just the colors I got. I'll have to look at that concealer though!

I think too faced is very overrated. I've only tried a few products, but everything I've tried has been "meh" at best. I don't get the rave on the eyeshadow, I think drugstore products have better pigment. But maybe I've just gotten duds.
I think anastasia beverly Hills is overrated too. I get that it's almost all brow stuff, but I don't know. The pomade I used for a while but I felt like I was just using gel liner and it smudged so much. I've never tried the pencils or powder, but I feel those are hard to go wrong on and every brand has some. The whole brand kind of bothers me lol.
Stilla eyeliners smudged and didn't last at all for me, it wiped off like 10 minutes later. So that was a sucky experience with a high rated product. I even returned it and got another to see if I got a dud. But nope.
Eco tools brushes. Ugh they feel so rough. My sister loves them, and I haaaate them.

Underrated- I think tarte shadows are so under rated. I love them. They are my favorite at matte shadows. I know they reformulated the shadows a few years ago and so a lot of people go "I bought x palette 6 years ago and it was horrid" but they've really stepped up and I think they are the king of mattes. Also, I think kvd is kind of underrated. People seem to recommend the products but I hardly ever see people use the products if that makes sense lol. Like if I buy a palette from her line, which I almost always do, I have to search for unknown blogs and you tubers to get ideas on looks, since most of the you tubers or blogs I follow will maaaaybe do a swatch post but that's it. And they always have such good reviews. Like leesha from xsparkage always rates them so high, but never uses them in videos lol. Until the contour palette, nobody seemed to buy her stuff. The liquid lipsticks are quite known now too but again I see hardly anybody use them lol.
Also coastal scents/bh cosmetics. Like lex from madeyewlook uses bh cosmetics and coastal scents still. For like any look that needs eyeshadow or powders. And I have a few coastal scents stuff, and I love them, I always gravitate towards my high end palettes but if there is a color I need that I don't have in high end, coastal scents is what I reach for. I wish bh cosmetics shipping prices weren't so insane, they have more products even though they're manufactured at the same place. When coastal scents arrives, 2$ boarder fee, when bh cosmetics arrives (I haven't ordered but Canada post has a thing online that tells you) and it's like 45$ for a 1-8 pound package. Crazy stuff. But I think that's it. I'm sorry this is long and rambly and congrats if you actually read this whole thing lol. I'm on heavy meds right now so I'm a bit loopy.

I've gotten great brow stuff at Wal-Mart for $5. I don't think I'll ever buy anything more expensive for my brows than $5. I've heard great things about stila liners! I love eco tools brushes! Btw, Alyx, I commented on your wall again. Lol. Sorry for bugging you so much!

The huge amount of product used on a face application is overrated lol, I can't seem to wrap my brain around it all lately, its a battle of the faces. Everything and every line is coming out with the same thing but then again most are owned by the same companies and atleast we have the options, but I will say their are so many underrated Indie lines that get ignored because they're at a lower cost but perform so well.I like Nabi, Klean color , Santee, Princessa, LA Splash, City color, etc.this all goes into the other brands I have but I think everything is worth a shot.  :)

Thanks Shanae you're to kind (this old face of mine lol), I was on a little vacation visiting friends and family it was a blast and much needed. I actually didn't have to apply makeup on a single face because I wanted a breather away for a bit lol by the way do you have the eco tools brushes? If so then your set because they're the exact same brushes as real techniques ;)

Not yet! I used my sister's eco tools and my cousins real techniques. Bad I know! But I love them so much. I haven't gotten any yet because I usually grab a bunch of other things and hit my budget before I get to them lmao! Soon though, soon! Glad you enjoyed your vaca! Also glad that you're back!

I love my eco tools brushes!

overrated: imo are mac lippies. I want to love them because I read great reviews but they don't seem to be anything special. bought a lip glass... wasn't impressed. tried on a matte lipstick in the store and dried my lips out like crazy... bought a different lipstick months later and I keep forgetting that I have it.

underrated: 1) I will always cheer for my Brucci nail polish. I only see it in Rite-aid stores but I would definitely compare it to some of the pricier polishes. it costs about $4.
2) another brand is Nicka K lip crayons. I only see this brand in one of the beauty stores I go to. if you want something that lasts... this LASTS...all day and applies smoothly.

Overrated :

MAC lipsticks, yes they have nice colours but I can get nice colours somewhere else that actually last. For the price you think they'd be something special

Cover girl 3 in 1 foundation - I literally hear about this all the time and I absolutely hate it. Regret buying a lot.

CeraVe moisturizer- I tried to love it because of all the rave and hype around it but it was nothing special and I personally found it way too watery on my dry skin

UD setting sprays- hated them! I have the all nighter and I don't feel it makes a difference

Underrated :

Face secret makeup brushes - SO SOFT and never shed, I get mine at sallys

Micabella/mica beauty all their products are heavenly. I recommend them all the time!! My absolute favourite brand since day one

Xtremelash Glideliners- once they set you cannot run them off I've tried. Soft, oil free and perfect for sensitive eyes since it's meant to work with eyelash extensions. It's a pencil liner that's meant to preform as a liquid so it's essentially the creamiest liner you'll ever wear.

Overrated:
Definitely the Naked palettes! I had 1 and 3, and I gave away 1. The quality of the shadows is just okay in my opinion, not worth $50+. Also, Benefit They're Real! mascara (meh), Benefit box blushes (not that pigmented), Milani Bella Eyes eyeshadows, Rimmel 25 hr foundation, MAC eyeshadows (MUG is 20x better and cheaper!), Kat von D tattoo liner (this stuff is amazing BUT it dried up on me within a few weeks! NOT worth the pricetag!!)

Underrated:
Kat von D butterfly palettes (!!), Jordana blushes (awesome for the price), Almay liquid lip balms (fabulous lip gloss!!)

I have to say that the Nars line is not fully utilized. Everyone really only looks to NARS for their blushes which are fantastic but their concealers and foundations have beautiful finishes. Their multiples see truly multi use and the matte lipsticks are great. I think each color they chose for lips eyes and cheeks are quite deliberate and appropriate for the year/season. The packaging is so sleek and pretty. The only think I have not given a chance yet is their skincare

Underrated: Models Prefer brand... They have a great range, love their makeup, it's a cheap drugstore brand, I have even heard that it is all made in the same factory as Mac/ owned by Mac. :)
