Masscara to MEsscara!! Pardon the pun..anyone have this problem.because I do everyday! When I put masscara on my bottom lashes it always go on my skin so it looks messy! I have heard of eye guards etc.but I don't want to buy any accessories anything I could use that I will have at home to stop masscara going underneath my lashes and I have notice on my left eye my lashes pull more.forwards my skin whereas my left eye I can putascara on fine and the lashes look perfect.

You can use a playing card/business card/rewards card, etc. instead of a specially made eye guard to catch the mascara.

Or the edge of a tissue. Forms to your eye and absorbs any mascara that comes from the brush.

It might be the mascara brush, too; I've noticed that when I use a certain mascara on my bottom lashes, they smudge, but when I use a different one - with a different brush - it's fine! And I concur with above - tissue works! Conversely, you can use the clear mascara if you're just going for length on your bottom lashes - no color! :-)

Or just wait tip the mascara has dried and dip a Q-tip into makeup remover (or your mouth!) and just dab away the mascara!

I like Alexis and Karlynns ideas :) but like Kat said, it could be the mascara wand, I always use a thinner one for my bottom lashes as the big one I use for my top lashes just causes a ton of mess on my bottom

Just don't push so hard. Apply as lightly as possible to the bottom lashes until you have the amount on them you want.

I found regular sized mascara brushes to cause me great havoc on bottom lashes so I was on cloud nine when I found the Clinique Bottom Lash mascara. The brush is super tiny allowing total control of the situation plus the formula doesn't flake or smudge.

You could also try lightly swiping upwards from under the lashes, instead of the typical brushing down. When you brush down, over the top of the lashes, the slightest pressure pushes them down against your skin.

I totally agree with Regina. I use that technique on myself and when I do my friends makeup, and there is never any mess! Also, you could try, Maybelline's Big Eyes mascara. It has a dual-ended brush and work really well!!

I have to do it. Otherwise I make a mess. I used to use a smaller brush like Shelley was talking about, called Maybeline Lash Discovery, and one called Loreal Telescopic. NYX has one called The Skinny Mascara. It's a really tiny wand.

If you let mascara dry, it will come right off if you wipe it.

Vipe your mascara wand on the tissue before applying. Believe me, it works amazing.
