Even when I just shave, my pits always look like they have a 5 o'clock shadow 😩. Anything I can do to brighten up the area, smooth it out, overall aid the care of them?

I use a bit of my face cleansing wash to wash of my armpits after shaving :)

Ya know, I used to try that but wasn't sure it was helping. May not be a bad idea to jump on that again. Thanks!

Hmm well I don't actually know if it works haha ;) I have very little body hair and they are so blond, so I actually might not be the right one to give advice haha!

Try exfoliating - this helps with my darkness in that area - I use a sugar scrub before shaving and also make sure to moisturize before you put deodorant that helps too :)

The simplest things can always be worth a shot Sabrina! Thanks Diana, I never even thought of that!

Exfoliating is definitely the best thing to do. I think the shadow cast on the pits are due to left over residue from odorant. Therefore, a nice scrub should be your best bet!

Gross! Lol I bought what I thought would be a good facial surface to wash with but it's a bit too harsh so I did try using that earlier. Plus no one wants ingrown hairs there!

Dove makes a deodorant that is supposed to correct that issue. It's called something tone or tone something lol!

If you have dark hair, your best choice would be to wax instead of shave since when you shave there hair is still there which can't do justice for light underarms, also I've heard that deodorant causes dark under arms. I've read a lot about how potatoes can lighten dark circles so why not get the juice from a potato and use a cotton pad to rub the juice on your underarms 10mins before you shower everyday

My husband had a problem similar to this, but his were really dark. He simply switched deodorants. So I might be an ingredient in your deodorant thts cause it for you too. Also exfoliating is always good.

Different deodorants make that happen. I don't shave but when I was using degree deodorant it gave me that shadowy look. I'm using old spice now and the 5 o'clock shadow is gone.

Try old spice! Haha jk.
Maybe switching deodorants may help

I wouldn't trust the dove deodorant, It use to be my go to choice until I forgot to put it on one day before work and didn't sweat a drop all day. With unloading two 53foot trailers by hand, I should have been sweating.

I never thought deodorant might be the issue. I flip between dove and secret. I thought the dove one had helped in the past but wasn't sure if I just thought so. I'll look into a different brand then.

Lol Diego, if you have any tips for a Floral scented Old Spice I'm all for it!

I'd consider laser hair removal. I did other areas of my body and LOVE it. I want to do everywhere (legs, etc) when I have some extra money. I don't think a small area like armpits is very expensive at all

Lol that type of luxury isn't currently an option in the best interest of my growing family. I'm a student and stay at home mom and were just barely making ends meet. Maybe one day, lol but really, I don't think I could bring myself to pay for something like that for myself. Maybe when the kids have moved out... When I'm like 50... And no one will care if I have hairy pits or not ðŸ˜†
