I have medium color brown eyes and I've seen photos with blue and purple eyeshadow for brown eyes but I have no idea what shades AND I don't know how to apply make-up correctly. It doesn't matter how many times I've "practice", still same results. I just use mascara and eyeliner on my bottom eye, but I want to add some color! Please help.

Any shade of purple and navy blue look amazing on brown eyes! You can do a neutral eye with a pop of color on the lower lash line or do a halo, smokey, or gradient eye for a night out (:
For a halo eye, put the lightest color in the middle of the lid with the darkest color on the inner and outer corner, connecting through the crease.
For a smokey eye, put the darkest color on the lid and blend upwards so the color fades as it goes into the crease and beyond.
For a gradient eye, put the lightest color on the inner corner, a midtone color in the center, and the darkest color in the outer corner.
Of course make sure to blend all your edges and where your eyeshadows meet so everything looks seem less (:
