Absolutely clueless about - I guess a lot of swimming and stuff and apparently it gets up to like 50'C plus x

Hot then!! I would wear bikinis or bikini tops with shorts. You could wear belly tops and I would keep your hair up in braids or buns as your hair would get hot. Try shell tops. I would also get lots of floaty blouses and a maxi dress for out in the evening!! Hope that helps :) btw I followed you!! cx

I might be going mental and I'm absolutely shattered so my geography is pretty bad at the moment, but don't people have to cover up and wear headscarfs in Dubai?

Hats hats hats hats hats!! gosh I can honestly not stress that enough, hats will save your life over their, and some sunnies as well! have fun & always be sun safe over there, sunburn is not fun! :-)

You are not obligated to completely cover up in Dubai like you are in some other middle eastern countries but if you do wear very little other than in your hotel locals may find it disrespectful. But if you will be in you hotel surroundings most of the time you can wear whatever will keep you cool.

No don't cover up. I'm in Dubai and I wear shorts and sleeveless all the time. Except if its Ramadan season though, June or July. People pay respect to the season so dress decently. but no need to cover up too much.
