So I went to the dermatologist and he prescribed me with three different medications One being "tretinoin" Cream 0.0 25% I'm directed to use it at night. The second medication is called"clindamycin phosphate" and that's 1% advised to apply sparingly to read bombs twice daily if needed. The third medication is called amoxicillin 500 mg I thought that this was a medication that was just use for infection so I'm a bit confused but I'm directed to take this twice a day once in the morning and once at night has anybody use this for acne? Now one of the creams is supposed to be a generic version of retnin a Cream I have heard of that and I've heard that it has worked wonders for some people skin but in other hands made some people skin worse has anybody tried the retnin a cream?? Has it cleared your skin I've heard it causes a lot of peeling. Also I was advised to get the clean and clear acne cleanser with 10% benzyl peroxide I've use this in high school but I don't really remember if it worked for me or not because I had a really clear skin in high school I really don't know if that cleanser was why? Has anybody used this cleanser? I was also advised to get a lotion with SPF can anybody recommend me one? Also could I just mix some sunscreen with my daily lotion would that be stupid? 😕

This is the cleanser And obviously I didn't post the pills because the bottle has a lot of personal information on it my dermatologist said my face will be getting a lot worse within the next 2 to 3 weeks but after that I should see improvement wish me luck.

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic that can be used for many infection (including skin), if he gave you 500mg twice a day it must be a serious one. I recently went to the doctor and found out I had a really bad infection in my kidneys and they straight away gave me another antibiotic (a stronger one) to take for 500mg, twice a day. Did you ask him why he prescribed you those?

Antibiotics just fight off bacteria though, of any kind, including skin related

I've use the cleanser but nothings else I personally like it. I used it day and night when I first got it and the day there was no redness from my pimples and most of them went right away. I still use just not as much when I had serious acne I also use it with my Olay via via vivid tool its like a rubber bush that vibrates to deep clean your face

Omg first off I'm sorry to hear that!! And he really didn't give me any information so that's why I'm so skeptical. He did say he was going to prescribe me an acne medication in pill form but he said it could cause headaches but if I were to get a servere one to come to the ER right away. But I told him that I have chronic migrain syndrome so therefore I get migraines every single day so I wouldn't be able to distinguish whether or not I was getting the migraine from the medicine or if it was just a typical migraine. Also I recently got a concussion which gives me severe migraines every single day as well. He did tell me that one of the creams would bring out any pimples that were inside of the skin which would cause a lot of acne on the surface of my skin and lots of peeling.

The tretinoin cream is the same is retin-a. It does get good results in a lot of people but just be careful as it can be very drying and will also increase you sensitivity to sunlight so make you you were plenty of sunscreen with it. I know you aren't supposed to use salicylic acid products with it but I'm not sure about benzoyl peroxide. The other cream is an antibiotic cream which I'm assuming is to work in conjunction with the amoxicillin.

Ahhhh okay! Yeah, it's just an antibiotic. It will fight off the bacteria. I hate taking antibiotics, they mess me up. This one is wreaking havoc on me!! So I wish you the best in taking it. Don't be sorry :) it was just so weird because I never felt out of the ordinary or anything! It was weird. Anyways good luck with your medication and I hope it works for you :)

I don't mean to be all up in your business Renay if you don't want to answer that's fine but how is it messing you up that's only if you don't mind me asking. I hope it's not anything too bad :( I know Anna biotics can have different effects on different people. But thank you I wish you the best of luck as well.

Yeah girl it's fine! I've just experienced a lot of the negative side effects. Heart palpitations, serve chest/breast pain, nightmares, sometimes it make me dizzy and nauseous, feeling weak! I haven't spoke to my doctor about it and I probably should haha. But it's not constant just sometimes, and not all at once! I only started having symptoms like a week after taking them! It sucks, they're unexpected. However, everyone reacts differently! Don't even trip because then you'll scare yourself into having symptoms (placebo effect) lol.

Omg yes you better talk to your doctor girl! That's not cool 😕 and I'm refusing to look up any of these things on Google 🙅 I will start trippin I'm not even to think about it to much.

I haven't tried tretinoin but I used retin-a in the past. It took time to see results and made my skin purge and really dry but helped a lot with acne and hyperpigmentation. I also used clindamycin gel before and it worked soo well on acne spots, but after a while stopped being as effective. Your skin can become resistant to it. I think antibiotics work for acne by reducing inflammation from the inside. I was recently prescribed antibiotics 2 times a day for bad acne caused by birth control. I think it's helping overall. Good luck, I know the struggle!

Thank you so much Nina! Mine is the same I'm breaking to what he believes is my birth control

No problem! Ugghhh it's so frustrating :/ I figured it was the BC for me because I had terrible acne only on my cheeks. my derm pretty much told me my acne would never get better if I stayed on it, so needless to say I'm not taking it anymore -_-

Jan 31, 2015

Erin L.

Yea I got my last shot and there starting me on the pill they said it should help and yes that's where I break out all over my cheeks

I'm only on depo because of my heavy flow 😂😂😂 my doc never told me I would break me out until recently! I would of rather had a bad period then acne. Before depo my skin never broke out! Depo also made me gain weight a lot of weight I don't mind that much because it went in some good places if you know what I mean 😏 but I think I should of been warned first 😠
