Cakey/Oily Face by midday - Help!

My daily face makeup is:

Bare Minerals Prime Time primer
NARS radiant creamy concealer (I just put this in triangles under my eyes)
NARS sheer matte foundation
Too Faced Absolutely Invisible Candlelight Powder

First off, even when I'm applying the NARS foundation it's already looking "too" matte/cakey ish, but not like way noticeable unless you're right up in my face ya know?

By midday it's really REALLY cakey in the crevices of my face (crease of my nostrils, corners of mouth, under eyes).. And GREASY!! My glasses slide off down my nose it's that bad!

AND when my glasses slide, they make "tracks" in the makeup... I feel so embarrassed by it and have no idea what to do :(

HELP! Any recommendations for different makeup/foundation combinations I should try instead?

Probably your primer. I started using NYX angel veil recently because someone on youtube recommended for oil control. It makes my makeup last all day. It is meant to be a dupe for Hourglass Mineral Veil primer which is consistently rated one of the top primers for oily skin.

Also, you may want to tweak your skin care regime, with products targeted for oily skin. I find that my combination skin is more oily when I don't moisturize enough. I know it's counter intuitive, but I think you want to prevent your skin from turning on the oil by making your place well moisturized to begin with.

Honestly it looks like you are using a large amount of product - and that is causing the cakey effect - you really only need less than a pea sized amount of the foundation for your whole face and you should blend it out with fingers or a brush really well before you set it with powder - also you may want to try a setting spray to set everything and keep it in place longer - possibly a mattifying setting spray - I like the ones by skindinavia and model in a bottle.

I have very oily skin and I use mac prolong where foundation and an oil control lotion and I can wear my makeup with no touch ups for about 8 hours if not longer

Okay thanks ladies!! I have been using this organic oil stuff for my skin with my Clarisonic and I struggle with getting good coverage on my foundation - it is probably in my head! Lol and the fact that I'm soooo blind ahhhhh so I put some makeup on, put glasses back on to check, take them off again so I can get to my face with the brush, repeat HAHA it's comical my hubby says!

Oh and I will go back to using a setting spray - had been using a UD spray but felt at the time it was counterintuitive or wasn't sure what to change up. Will try different primer too. Am tempted to go back to just using good CC cream with blush & setting spray... Hmm decisions!! Thanks so much for your input I'm so glad for yall!! <3.

The Nars Radiant Creamy is awesome- love it. But I apply it after foundation- I tend to use less that way. Because it is a creamy product. Maybe try a matte powder to set with. The Too Faced is more of an illuminating powder. Like Tarte Amazonian Clay finishing powder. The clay absorbs oil.

I have noticed when I don't use the right primer this happens to me, too. I love the NYX primer! I would play around with primers, if I were you, that will help allow for a good base for your makeup. I have noticed that when I started using coconut oil as a moisturizer my makeup applied SO much better, as well as lasted longer. Hope this helps! :)
