Heeeey so I decided I wanted to start a channel. I already have a good camera, one of those big bulky nikons lol and iMovie to edit. So is there any ideas or tips you guys may have about starting or having a channel?

Having good editing and lighting is key and makes the video look really well done and like your care a lot. Once you get your channel started, there's an app called Brand Snob that you can use to work with other companies and promote your channels. Also, reaching out to other you tubers that may or may not be more popular than you and collaborating on videos is a good way to get more subscribers. I love the beauty videos, but I prefer talk through a versus voice over if it's just a tutorial. Having a blog and a vlog channel also helps you get more in touch with your subscribers. Have fun, and let us know your channel name so we can check you out!

Subscribe and comment on other peoples channels. This will help you get to know other youtubers. Also, make your channel about something you like. It's the worst when you make a channel and start doing videos and then you get bored with it!! If you like makeup and beauty, start one about that. If you like crafts, start a crafting channel. It all depends on what you like!! If you like it others will too. Oh and remember it may take a while for the channel to become popular. It may be months before you have any subscribers. Tell your friends about it. Maybe they can follow you, just to get a kick start on it! Btw, when you create the channel let me know! I'll be sure to follow you!!

Hey Zynia. I have a YouTube channel as well and my link is on my bio if you wanted to see. I find that you just have to upload things that you LOVE. don't even worry of its not all beauty or whatever, it's your channel and people will subscribe because they love your content, and people will see that you love what you're doing. When I started mine I felt pretty weird like no ones going to subscribe. lol for instance my channel is of beauty and my life, so I never get bored doing it. Both are very important to me and that's how I keep on going. You can do hauls, reviews, vlogs of your events while showing OOTD are all great ideas. You also have to care about your audience, reply to their comments and watch their videos also! I have a blog also that accompanies my channel and both work very well to people who love watching videos or people who loves blogs instead so you are attracting viewers of both worlds.
Last bit least while iMovie is great to start I recommend Final Cut Pro x. Your existing will be awesome!!

Thaaaaanks guys. I'll be sure to take all this into account. I have a bunch of ideas for content and I'm going to start off with natural lighting so I can save up for pro lighting.

I'd recommend investing in a tripod if you don't already have one. Whilst iMovie is good, a BRILLIANT editing software I'd recommend is Final Cut Pro. It is extremely easy to use and makes videos look professional! It's inexpensive for what it is and is used when editing cinematic films a lot.
