How to do a blowout at home? Mainly roots.

I have horribly thin hair :( but I'm obsessed with lots of volume at the top. Backcombing is ruining my hair and it doesn't really look that great anyways. How can I blow dry my hair to have that full and easy looking blownout hair without all the backcombing. Please include tips, products, and references to videos if you have some!

Try root lifting products and volumizing products - I use a volumizing mousse when wet and the living proof cream really works well on thin hair - instead of back combing try using a round brush at the roots and blow dry over the brush and push the brush up and away from the scalp with the blow dryer directly on the brush (preferably with a concentration extension on it) basically blow dry it the way your hair dresser would blow dry it.

I agree with Diana, use a round brush and the straighter up you take the brush the more volume you will have. (180 degree angle is most ideal and just roll the ends down with the brush)
