What's the difference between gel nails and nail polish nails? How long to gels last? Are gels more expensive?

Do you mean like when you get it done at a salon? Or like that fake gel nail polish they sell?

Gel lasts longer then regular polish I believe I think its supposed to last up to a week or maybe even longer. sally Hansen has some good gel polishes at the store in a lot of cute colors too:) regular Polish chips and with gel nails I don't think that happens.

Darlene: at a salon.
Jaylynn: are gel polishes like different consistency? I have no knowledge 😂

My "no chip" Gel lasts 3 full weeks without loss of shine or wear. I could go longer, but that tell-tale cuticle always shows my growth.

I've used Sally's "gel" nail polish and personally I think it's completely useless and is just like regular nail polish, and when you get it done at a salon it's almost like an acrylic nail but not as harsh , and gel can last you up to a month

Gel nails last quit a bit longer.
They don't dry like regular nail polish you have to cure it under a UV or LED light depending on the formula.
They're more shiny as well.
The cons of them is that they involve filing your nail bed I think that's the name, and they have to be soaked in pure acetone to be taken off.
If you use the UV formula that can also be damaging to the skin

Gel has to be cured under a light, as opposed to drying in the air like regular polish. It becomes much harder than regular polish too, for me at least, I would have to try very hard to break a nail haha so that's an excellent bonus. It also lasts a lot longer, a minimum of a week (depending on the kind gel polish you use), it's also VERY shiny. If you do them yourself rather than go to a salon, there are a few tricks to keep it from becoming too damaging. I prefer to do them myself so my nail beds aren't destroyed by filing, plus it's SO much cheaper.
