Hi I'm interested in trying out a glossing pomade. I have long straight hair and I'm wondering if a glossing pomade will add some moisture to it and make it glossy. I'm confused as to what a pomade is lol

Here's the pomade I want to try:  http://m.sephora.com/hair-bling-high-shine-pomade-P397645

I just want something that'll make my hair shiny , I've tried oils before and they didn't do anything. That's why I'm looking into pomade

A pomade is more like a gel. So it might make it look greasy if you just apply to straight hair. If suggest looking into a good shine spray. That's what I use on my super dry hair and it always works!

I use a dry oil spray. It gives me really soft, smooth, shiny hair without weighing it down or making it greasy. Mine is from the herbal essence brand and it smells amazing! You could also just take a little bit of coconut or olive oil in the palms of your hands and gently add some to the ends of your hair, but you have to be careful because it's easier to apply too much and make your hair look greasy. I'm pretty sure pomade is targeted more for curly hair since it is a gel.

I use pomade for my super straight bangs, but it should be noted that all of them are not created equally. You'd want one that is water soluble and they also vary by hold...but I don't use pomade for shine or moisture.

A little Argan Oil run through on your fingertips or Apricot Oil will add shine and seal in moisture..cutting back on frizzies. I prefer Josie Moran's Light Argan for this rather than regular, but enjoy the Apricot equally and it is certainly less expensive than Josie's.
Pureology makes a killer shine spray.
For adding shine with heat protection, Rusk Thermal Shine is glorious, but it has a strong smell during application..but then vanishes. I use hair perfume anyway..lol
Also, huge fan of "Smooth Criminal", which is similar to John Freida's Frizz Ease, only I think it provides a lovely shine that I don't get with Frizz Ease. It keeps locks soft and seals the hair nicely without spending much.

I recently started using this and pairing it with their deep conditioner and seriously love it for adding moisture and shine.

Cold pressed, Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil as a hair treatment softens and gives shine as well. I alternate it with hair masks. Loreal has a great power mask that adds moisture and shine that our lovely Mod, Hannah, turned me onto.

I do think if you opt for one splurge, the Pureology Hydrate Shine Max rocks mad socks..ahhh..so good! To me, it is astounding and bonus...preserves color while locking in that moisture with glorious shine!

I also use the coconut oil, like Rozberry J. I prefer the raw organic good quality stuff because it soaks into your hair better.
