^^yes, as Hailey said, please test it first!! I was told of all the benefits plus I love the smell so I was very quick to slather it all over my face and the next day was terrible, I had cystic acne on the bridge of my nose, around my mouth, my forehead. It sucked. So I switched over to using apricot seed oil, it quickly moisturized the dry skin patches on my face and I've noticed my acne scars are slowly fading. It's great! To treat the acne that was caused by the coconut oil, I used tea tree oil

Definitely patch test (:. All the comments about clogging pores had me iffy about ever applying coconut oil on my face ever again, but one day I was like, "Wtheck. I have nothing to lose." So I applied coconut oil on my face after washing my face and I remember waking up looking so youthful and simply refreshed c:. I have acne prone skin, so of course I was concerned about breaking out bc back when I did use coconut oil on my face, I'd break out, although it was only 2 or 3 breakouts, it did suck. But somehow now, Coconut oil is great stuff for my skin! (:. So definitely try it

But there is a difference between people who get the odd spot or have acne. I DID have acne and I steer well clear of any oil

I can use it in my hair and all over my body but if I use it on my face it will break me out BIG TIME.

I haven't had issue using it on my face and I have oily skin. I reach for it mainly during the winter months if I'm going to use it on my face. My hair loves it as a sealant on my ends though.

The oil cleansing method can be great for any skin type - including acne prone if you use good oils - I never used coconut cause I've been too afraid of it clogging my pores but for my OCM mix I used a 50/50 mix of jojoba and castor oil - and added a few drops of tea tree oil and the Dior cleansing oil for the emollients - it's important to have emollients so that all the oils wash off easier when you do the steam - this mix never broke me out and made my skin glow and feel so moisturizer afterwards it's great for winter when my skin is really dry.

Thanks Diana.. do you don't use it in summer

I have but usually in the summer it's already hot and my face is really oily in summer already and adding more oil with this method just feels gross and steaming feels gross when it's already hot too - so that's why I personally don't like to do it in summer.

I tried coconut oil as a moisturizer, and I broke out immediately! That very well may just be my skin, but I would consider a natural noncomodegenic moisturizer instead. :)
