Hello! I recently got the SK-II Pietra essence set red butterfly edition.. it comes with the treatment essence and a small thing of clear lotion and a sheet mask. It was a great deal! I'm really excited to use it because I've heard such amazing things...
but! how should I encorporate it into my daily routine..?
right now I'm using two prescription skincare products..a gel essence and an emulsion. in the morning I use toner, Rx essence, a different emulsion and a cream. at night I use toner, a different essence and my Rx emulsion then a cream. I try to use a clay mask once a week.. I'm curious about how I'll fit SK-II in without stopping my Rx-es. Any thoughts...? Thank you??

Well, once you run out of your current cream, you can use the SK-II lotion (or just use it in the morning, since lotions are lighter weight anyway). The thing about the essence and the sheet mask is that they work the same way, and you want to put them on after your toner and before your cream.

Can I ask a question, though? Is your emulsion a cleanser? Because if it is, it should go before your toner and your essence. If not then I'm just curious to know what it is :)

Whoa!! Incorporating a lot into the mix. I'm very familiar with the SK-II line as I have the essence in my stash but rarely reach for it. What prescription skincare items are using exactly? You definitely don't want to cancel out the benefits of the script products. The Essence you will want to use after you cleanse and tone. Pour a lil into the palm of your hand and bring in your other hand on top and have both hands moistened with product and while skin is still lightly damp then pat palms onto face until you feel the product has been absorbed by skin. Pat not rub. When I was using it on a daily I was only using once a day because twice a day it became too drying to my skin. Then you can apply your serum/and or moisturizer. Since you have both the treatment essence, the lotion and sheet mask I would definitely introduce one product at a time to your skin so in case you have any irritation you can better isolate which product is causing you grief. The mask...is awesome sauce and I usually grab one for special occasions because it does provide a nice flow to the skin plus make makeup application a dream since it hydrates the skin. The lotion you mention...I have yet to try it myself. I have a full size bottle of it sitting around somewhere. Seeing your post now has me wanting to reintroduce this line back into my program because it is pretty good. Especially the essence.

The emulsion I use isn't a cleanser haha! I'll go check what it is exactly though... in detail, this is my routine:
morning:
black African soap
bliss daily detox toner (I'm not crazy about this but my only toner atm)
clindamycin phosphate topical gel essence (Rx)
Urban eco emulsion
Neutrogena hydro boost (I only use creams in the morning in the winter, though)

night:
Burts bees cleaning oil
missha super aqua foam cleanser
skinfood tomato essence
Adapalene cream emulsion (Rx)
Mixon placenta 45 serum
Nature republic aqua max cream (I use this instead of the Neutrogena bc I like it more actually, it's just too heavy for the day.)

I use A LOT lol...it works amazingly for me though and seems to be the best system. thanks so much for the help both of you! I'm wondering if I introduce the essence first.. should I replace my skinfood essence? and should I use it with my Rx essence in the morning as well? I'm definitely going to save the mask for a special occasion!! good to know :-)

What exactly do your prescriptions do for you? So I'd say you should stick with your current routine if you're happy with it, then once you run out of your current essence you can replace it with the SK-II version. And before you add anything new to your routine you should patch test on the inside of your wrist to make sure it won't give you a reaction :)

They are a treatment for acne. of course.. I hope I'm not allergic?? I probably should get samples but it was on sale and a really good deal haha..

I doubt you're allergic, but new products, regardless, can sometimes cause a bit of a reaction :) I wouldn't worry too hard about that, I'm sure it's fine.
