Hey everyone!
The skin on my forehead and nose area has become super flaky. I've noticed my cheeks becoming flaky too. Not necessarily flaky, but extremely dry and on the verge of flakiness. I do moisturize every morning before applying my makeup. I use the original Nivea cream, it isn't specifically for the face but I've never had a problem with it? Any tips on how to get rid of the flakiness and prevent it from happening further? Home remedies preferably?
Thank you 💖

I'm not too sure of my skin type, I don't have acne or any other skin problems. I've never paid much attention to my face and I only wash it with actual face wash about 2-3 times a week. I use Avon face wash, it doesn't contain any soap, alcohol or any harmful substances at all.

Well first off you need to set up a good simple skin routine EVERYday. Even if you aren't wearing makeup everyday you still need to wash twice a day (even if you don't have makeup on, dirt, bacteria, etc.is getting in your skin). I really recommend CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. Its very gentle and great for dry skin types.
Here is a routine for the morning:
1. Wash with a gentle face wash (CeraVe) using warm water. Using a warm wash cloth on those flaky areas will help get that dead skin off a little.
2. Moisturize! Since you are having flakiness I really recommend CeraVe Moisturizing Cream (if the flakiness gets better then the Moisturizing Lotion is good; just lighter).
Night routine:
1. Remove makeup if you have any one.
2. Wash face with an acne cleanser (I love the one Avon has; its in a white and purple tube bottle for acne; not the grey bottles)
3. Moisturize! The same CeraVe will work.
4. Apply a spot treatment for blemishes if needed.
*If you are still have more flakiness Aquaphor or Neosporin covered with a bandaid at night helps my super dry spots. If that doesn't help then I recommend Philosophy's Back to Nurture Serum. Its expensive but amazinggg (a little expensive though) but it comes in a pretty good sized bottle and you only need a tiny bit. I've used several oils for dryness but this one has helped the most. I DO NOT recommend any home remedies because I have never had luck, and you have to be careful because most diy's out there are actually worse for your skin. A lot of people suggest coconut oil but it will only clog your pores. Coconut and other oils are just sealers (like the Aquaphor; but its okay to use on small areas not all over your face. And you have to moisturize first because it is going to trap that moisture underneath). I used coconut oil as a moisturizer for 2 years before I realized it wasn't doing anything great for my skin. All it does is lay on top of your skin instead of penetrating and really moisturizing like you want it to.

Don't use TOO hot water (It'll dry the skin more)
exfoliate at least twice a week (don't scrub hard)
no home remedies (makes everythin worse)
and instead of patting your face dry, while its still a bit wet use your moisturiser
