Has anyone tried using olive oil and sugar as an exfoliator? What's the outcome of it?

I have used it on my body before but not my face. The sugar may be too rough for the skin on your face but you could try it and see if it causes any irritation for you :)

I've used sugar to exfoliate and it work great for me, I use olive oil as a moisturizer but I have not tried them both at the same time

I wouldn't use olive oil on the face, but that's just me since I'm acne prone. I do like to use honey and sugar as a face scrub and lip scrub. Though, I think it depends on how fine the sugar is when used on the face. I heard brown sugar was less abrasive than white sugar but I personally never had a problem with either.

I've tried them both to exfoliate and it was super oily for my skin but if you have dry skin it's okay but I didn't notice any good exfoliation.

It worked well for me. I personally have oily skin but I used olive oil and salt and just blotted off any excess oil.
I found that I had smoother looking skin and my acne scars faded a little sooner than usual

Thanks ladies! going through a rough time with my skin all of a sudden. used to be so clear. I don't know if this is consider what article says once you hit adulthood you go through this stage.

Olive oil might be fine for you. but if you can easily get jojoba oil, I would advice you to use that instead. it's safer for acne prone skin since it's close to the sebum.

I find sugar far too abrasive for skin and it can cause micro-tears in skin, however my skin is combo and sensitive. If you are going to use sugar, I'd suggest brown/demerara sugar as opposed to white. Even better if you switch the sugar out for something like oats.

I'm not too sure lol. I loved the way my skin felt when I was constantly stroking my face lol! But I think it may have been a little bit too harsh on my skin. Try it out because everyone is different.

I wouldn't use it on acne,it created a lot of white heads by my pimples. If you can I would pick up the St Ives apricot scrub. It's amazing for exfoliating and I'm pretty sure if you get it at like Walmart or something they have a brand that's $2 instead of $5.

I have never used sugar, but I have used salt that I ground into a fine powder with a mortar and pestle. It make my face really smooth and soft.
