If you were to leave a pair of straightners on hot for 5 hours what would happen??

Not all straighteners turn themselves off. I've left mine on all day, and nothing happened, but you could potentially set your house on fire, or do some damage to the surface it was in.

I wouldn't recommend doing it but it depends on the straightener, where they're positioned and so forth..

Most of them will turn them selves off but I wouldn't recommend it even on a heat mat :/

I think ghd's turn themselves off. I left my old Toni and guy ones on my dressing table once and it cracked the glass on top of it =|
