It's been 2 years since I've suffered from acne scars. I didn't know how to take care of myself properly till recently. I was very childish and followed my mother's advice that I should just leave my face alone. Which any normal teenage girl can't do because acne lowers your self-esteem. It did for me anyways. I didn't want to go out, I didn't want to be seen. I thought that piling on makeup would help it go away but that just concealed it and made more. I've gone to a point where I wondered why anyone would even want to date me. Then about 2 years ago, I was reckless one whole summer and went out everyday! In the heat with my gunk of makeup, my acne turned into severe scars. It started with one small one, then another and so on..

I've come across chemical peels as I've seen at home videos girls and guys make and I see how big of a difference it instantly made within a span of a week. So I decided I'd purchase one. I use a 12% TCA Gel Peel. It doesn't make me flake the way I saw it in video's but my gosh did it ever make my acne scars small! I suffer from massive cheek scarring and it's slowly but surely fading!

NOTE: I have also added 30 SPF Suncreen facial lotion as my skin regime to help prevent further sun damage to my face.

have you gotten rid of your acne? Or does the peel help with the acne as well?

I've noticed less break outs but I've only done it twice within the month so I probably haven't showed full effects of the peel yet. It might take me another 2 more applications. It's helped with acne though. I've applied this on my boyfriends back because I was curious on what'd it'd do to his backne and the next day I've noticed they've shrunk and less red. If that's any help :) I'm mostly using this Chemical peel for my acne scarring I've had for the past two years. My pore are much smaller as well because of this.

Yikes. In the interest of there being a lot kids on here, some these are serious medical grade chemical peels. You can easily burn yourself, blind yourself or otherwise cause harm. Go to a dermatologist or medical spa and have these peels done. They have neutralizers, the proper equipment as well as the expertise to keep you from melting your face off.

I got my minor in chemistry and I promise you that chemical burns are bad, ugly news.

These aren't harsh deep chemicals. Hence why they're specifically made for at-home remedies :) They're chemicals yes, but just like your facial cleasner, it's a mild chemical specifically made for your face. Yes, I understand they can burn your face which is why they've given instructions on how to use the product.
