I wish they were better.
Okay, I'll probably sound crazy, but one reason i can't wear them is I don't feel what they call "primary" colors are not primary... I feel like the NSFW is not a true true red, for example.I also think that the yellow is a school bus yellow vs a true yellow. Also, I don't feel like I can wear any of the colors I got mixed or not, and I am not getting very nice colors when I mix anything, and it all seems to be blue based.. I know this sounds like a rant, but I wish that I didn't waste 100 dollars on them... :/ I just don't like the colors once I got them, and I find that when I mix them, they all turn out the same. (I know how to mix colors, plus my mom and grandmother cake decorate, and mixed the colors and they got the same results I did--Barney purples!)
Next Generation of Lip Color (and wallet friendly, too!)
The first two colors I purchased were actually from the Heroine collection. What can I say? I'm a fan of a gimmick. I purchased Lydia and Marion to test these out. I've known about them for quite some time but now that I've gotten my hands on them, I don't see myself going back to any other lip products for opaque color. Yes, I'm saying that aside from glosses and pencils, I don't see the need to go back to lipstick. The texture of OCC Lip Tars is feather light. I've noticed heavier textures from lip balms. The color you see in the tube is what you get on your lips and you only need the tiniest amount. The tiny amount needed has me wondering if I'll ever work my way through an entire tube. I mean, I love Grandma and Interlace and Pretty Boy enough to wear them all the time but I have yet to put even a dent in any of the colors I own. Why would I need other lip colors when I can get totally versatile and cost effective opaque color from these awesome little tubes of magic?! I immediately ordered six more after trying the first two. These will be going into my professional kit because there is no reason to go back to lipsticks. Plus, I really dig the little zip bags they come in with the small brush. Not because I needed the brush but because I can throw individual colors with the small brush into my bag and travel with them without issue. I used to wonder how I would touch up with these but the little bag miniature brush makes it a no-brainer.
I LOVE these! I have wanted Anime for a few years now but a few weeks ago I ordered Nylon and I seriously can't say enough good things about this product. It only takes a TINY amount so it is well worth the money. I'm a die hard Mac lipstick person but this product is just amazing. It says better than any other product I have tried. I only had to reapply once through the whole day. It is very pigmented. I get so many compliments when I wear this out!
Amazing colors, very lil goes far!!!
First off this is like the best thing to have in a makeup kit. Whether your a pro makeup artist, or a everyday gal who loves to stand out. The colors are amazing! What you see is exactly how it will look on your lips. Does not stain lips, easy to remove with a lil baby oil or eye makeup remover. You only need a very lil and it will go a long way. Use a good lip brush to apply, and be careful and neat. Only color I'm not so thrilled about is the black color "Tarred" but I love all the rest.
I was in the market for a good red lipstick and I stumbled upon the OCC lip tar. I bought this lip tar about a month ago for homecoming for $16 on Sephora.com and I have had ups and downs with this product. So lets get straight into this review, shall we? First of all, what you get in the tube is exactly what you get on your lips. It's a very pigmented lip tar and you will not be disappointed with the results. Also, don't be deceived by the size of this lip tar, because the tiniest drop truly goes a long way. Couple of other reasons why I like it is that it is a 100% vegan, and it comes with a small lip brush so you can apply it seamlessly. Now to the cons. On the paper it comes with, it says, "Ultra Long Lasting", now this is true and false. It's true if you buy the primer (which is another $16) , but it's false if you use the product alone. I used it alone and with in couple of hours dancing the night away it disappeared. One last thing, when I used it for the first it made my lips feel tingly and it smelled a bit minty, but by the second use that feeling and scent was none existent.
All in all I would recommened this product and I would buy the primer if it really does make it last longer, because it is a hassel trying to reply it.
DONT SLEEP ON LIP TAR!!
KUDO'S goes to OCC One of my clients from NYC gave me a tube about 3 years ago which I still have and use today. I said that to show how long they truly last, its so concentrated and highly pigemted that you only need to use one drop. Since then I have collected all shades and they live up to the name "Lip Tar" Long lasting vibrant color! Since I'm a MUA I typically run out of lipsticks and gloss pretty quick thanks to lip tar it seems I will be able past them down to my daughter (she's 6 BTW). I love the fact that they come in a squeezable tube perfect for clients who suffer from Germaphobia, perfect for the artist sanitization is very important!! Lip tars are mixable this allows you to be creative and make your own shades I really Love that!! I could run down so many reasons why I feel this is the best lip product EVER but the best advise is to try it for yourself and fall in love with OCC all together!!
Great for performances!
I absolutely love this lip product! I used this product (need to buy my own) for some pro cheer leading (NFL cheer) tryouts and the lip color literally stayed on my lips all day! It even stayed on after I ate my lunch. Lip color stays one without smudging or smearing. I highly recommend this for long wearing events. Love the variety of shades!
i only have anime but im in love its sooo pretty i think its worth the 16 bucks cuz idk how youd ever run out of this stuff i do think a liner is MUST with these i put this on and it no joke lasts a really long time for me i wanna try a lot more color i think its for sure worth and shot PLUS if u ask for sample a sephora the sample alone will last a really long time a little goes such a loong way!
I've heard from a lot of people that It has a drying affect on lips but I completely disagree !
I love the opacity of the color and the longevity. I recently bought Strumpet and love it for the fall season. I also have Hush, Momento, and Tone and find that they last just as long as the darker shades.
I usually put concealer on my lips prior to putting the Lip Tar on with a lip brush.
Overall, it's a great buy.
Great Product! LOVE to use it as a lip stain.
I love to put a very very small amount on my finger and work it into the lips then blot and have that lip stain look with this product! It lasts long, is minty and great color & pay off! Most people use these for that full on lip and it's great for that but it's also great for us guys and gals who like a stained look rather than a lipstick look. I love it! Would love more colors! I'm glad they changed the packaging too. Best change of packaging since the primer potion, am i right??
