works as a primer and base

I loveee this stuff!! It's like concealer for your eyes! I don't really like using concealer or foundation to cover the veins and discoloration because it doesn't necessarily prime your eye or make the shadows stay on longer. But this stuff cancels out the color, veins, etc. on my lids amazingly. If I decide not to wear eyeshadow or anything, I still put this on to make my eyes look bigger and make my whole face look fresh. It says it's a base, but I find that it helps my eyeshadow stay on long without creasing like a primer. LOVE! <3

One of the lucky ones

I don't have oily lids and the base matches my skintone, so it works well for me. I see it causes problems for other people, but I like it and use it often. So if you have oily eyelids, stay away, but if not, it does a good job.

Simply alright

This primer works well enough for a few hours but then creases later on. It is easy to apply with a finger and goes on smoothly. Eyeshadow goes on well, since I got the skin tone things don't pop too much. I only use this primer when I am trying out a new look and not going out. However, I am interested in trying the white.

Makes colors pop!

I really love this base, I always use it over my primer and the white makes the bright colors very vibrant. I also use it for details like lines and dots, which I can leave white, or go over with any color of eyeshadow. It works great and I have never had any problems with creasing or smudging.

Lovely stuff!

Long story short, I believe this primer is best for short-term photoshoots and concealer. So the white base really makes colors vibrant, but I found my shadows creased after around 4-5 hours on the lid. Now I have oily eyelids and my bicycle is my transportation, so my eye makeup goes through a lot of abuse each day. This primer may work extremely well for someone who has normal eyelids and doesn't work out while wearing makeup. What I've really been using and loving and why I will continue buying this primer is as a primer for concealer. Oh my goodness, it really brightens up the undereye area, prepares a smooth surface for concealer, and keeps concealer on forever.

great for pigment and daring applications

If you're looking to do crazy colorful makeup this white base really brings out the colors and helps them last. Plus if you want precision take an eyeliner brush and create whatever you would like. then add the color or colors you choose. they will be so bright and wonderful. I use this product on almost all my looks.

I have this in skin tone and it does a really good job. I have oily lids and it doesn't crease smudge or budge, lasts all day. I actually like that it comes in a jar because you only need a very small amount

I have this in skin tone and white for the price they work well I would repurchase this agian easy to apply the packaging is ok I prefer a tube but it's cute and one can last you a while

Great for the price!

I love this product as a base under my eyeshadows. I don't have really oily eyelids so if you do I'm not really sure how this will work for you. Its inexpensive, helps your eyeshadows 'stick' and show up more vibrant. This product really smooths out your lid and prepares it for your makeup application. The only reason I would take off a star is that is is packaged in a jar instead of a squeeze tube and the 'skin tone' shade may not work for deeper or lighter skin tones. All in all its a great product and I would recommend trying it for the price unless you already have an eyeshadow primer that works for you.

A brightening eye primer that makes any eye colour pop!

I have been really keen to try one of the NYX Eyeshadow bases, as I knew they were a great base for any vibrant eyeshadow to apply over the top and are similar to the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils.

The packaging says it is 'For 100x brightening effect' and 'set's base camp for true stay on, stay put, long eye shadow colours!'

As eye primers go I am a big fan as they intensify the shadow colour, have longevity and they help grip the shadow well.

These come in White, White Pearl and Skin Tone.

PACKAGING
This comes in a clear plastic pot with a white lid. It contains 7g's of product, whereas the Bobbi Brown Long -Wear Cream Shadow only has 3.5g of product. NYX Products are also hypoallergenic, cruelty free and recyclable.

TEXTURE
This feels like a lightweight cream which is silky and smooth in texture and not heavy on the eye at all.

COVERAGE
This covered the eye well and is buildable; it blends out with no build up or flaking on the eye.

APPLICATION
I used a MAC 242 to apply the base, but you can also use your finger to apply and blend. I felt the product applied really well to the eye and when applying the eyeshadow on top, it adhered better than not using a base or primer at all, it made the shadow pop and showed it's true colour.

LONGEVITY
The longevity of the product was great, I had no creasing and my eyeshadow stayed in place all day still showing the shadow's true colour with no dullness.

PRICE
This is a snip at only £5 such great value for such a large amount of product whereas Bobbi Brown Long -Wear Cream Shadow is £18 for half the product which essentially does the same job.

FINAL THOUGHT
This is defiantly worth every penny as it has a light weight consistency and great staying power. It also helps maximise shadow pigment and is amazing value for money which makes this is a must have for any staple make-up bag! I would love to see NYX come out with a selection of Coloured Eyeshadow Bases next.
