Hannah M.'s (makeupchick) Beauty Product Reviews
Wonderful Piecey Effect
I got this as a gift along with the Almond Cleasing Conditioner and mask from a relative. I'm in love with this balm! It gives the ends of my hair the perfect piecey texture that I've seen in magazines and always wanted to re-create. This product is also very natural and gentle on the hair, using essential oils to keep hair moisturized.
I really like this dry shampoo! I was hesitant to buy it at first since I had never tried dry shampoo before but I'm glad I did! The scent is fresh and slightly citrus-y, gets rid of the oil, and is very cheap. I used this so much that I ran out of it kinda quickly, that would be my only "complaint". :)
If you apply this gel cream right after the shower, I find that's when you get the best results. I've applied it dry before just to see if anything changes and my hair becomes very stiff and crunchy. There's movement when applied wet or dry, but I think you'll get better results if you're hair is wet. Some people don't like the smell of this (my mom for example) but for others (like myself) it doesn't bother.
I can't find anything wrong with this conditioner! It smells so delicious I wanna eat it, feels not too heavy not too light, and my hair feels silky when I put it on in the shower. This has been voted the best cheap shampoo and conditioner pair by Seventeen and Teen Vogue. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to buy a cheap and effective conditioner.
Really Like This!
Since I'm a teen, I wanted something light, breathable, but that would cover up what I needed it to. This does the trick! The shade matched my skin tone wonderfully and covered imperfections and soaked up oil in my t-zone. I would suggest that you be very light handed if you're doing your cheeks, it can get very powdery and cakey if you're not careful.
I Agree with Megan
For me, the foaming cleanser made my acne worse, though that may be due to my skin being sensitive to foam cleansers. The spot treatment isn't bad, but I can't stand the smell of it. Same goes for the all over treatment. Out of this system, I would repurchase the retinol clarifying lotion. I really thought that made my skin smooth and kinda dewy. Unfortunately it doesn't last very long. Maybe a month. :(
After I use this cleanser, my skin feels so smooth and soft. I have skin that is healing from four years of sever acne (from foods) and I need something that won't irritate my skin further while it's repairing. I would suggest using a makeup remover if you need to take off more than just light everyday makeup. Also, I love using this with the Olay Professional ProX Facial Cleansing Brush. Bonus: My skin honestly looks slightly dewy and glowy afterwards!
Not For Me
The two things I liked about this product was the natural ingredients and the price is $1. I found that after two weeks or so, the application roller ball wasn't dispensing the product very well, I could barely get it out. As for blemishes, I didn't see a dramatic difference. If you've got a very very large, sore pimple, then for me it semi worked to diminish it. Other than that this didn't work very well for me.
