I've found that after adding a few drops of alcohol and then waiting like 2 minutes, before using a pairing knife that the pan separates easily with no cracking and less glue goo. I've depotted about 15 shadows this way. Also I used the CS palette and pans. The mac pans fit inside the CS pans. I just rub alcohol on the mac description sticker for about 20-25 seconds. It slides off easily. I just stick it on the bottom of the CS pan (that has been inserted wth a mac pan) and put it in the CS palette
This is a pretty easy method but you do have to be careful -- I had a problem with some of the mattes cracking.
