Clean 4c Natural Hair without using Shampoo: Wash Day Alternatives
So there is shampoo, cleansing conditioner and rinse out conditioner. Predominately alot of us use rinse out conditioners to co-wash. I use to do the same until I actually used a "co-wash" product. As in a products purposely made to co-wash your hair. This is also called cleansing conditioner. I got the Loreal Cleansing Balm from influenster. Loreal calls it a balm however, its mainly know as a cleansing conditioner. From the first use of this balm (cleansing conditioner) I realized that these were actually very different from using a rinse out condition. My hair felt clean not like shampoo clean but clean and at the same time moisturized. Cleansing conditioners a specifically formulated to clean our natural hair, rinse out conditioners aren't. Rinse out conditioners contain ingredients that are formulated to moisturize better than clean. Hence the reason its second to its partner shampoo. Shampoos directions usually say use the conditioner after. Cause its made to absorb to the hair. Cleansing conditioners are formed to take away dirt without leaving your hair feeling stripped. In this video I show y'all how Loreal Cleansing balm is on my 4c hair. This is not a tutorial, it just a review.
I will soon do a video on the difference between cleansing conditioners and rinse out conditioners. Be on the look out for this.
The directions on Loreals Cleansing balm says I can use this cleanser by itself no need to dc. I tried it like that the first use. And my hair did feel moisturized however it did not retain as long as it usually does. So now I dc afterwards just like I would if I used a shampoo. So now I have two alternatives to cleaning hair with out shampoo. The product in the video and bentonite clay.
