I purchased the Maybelline Volume Express Colossal Chaotic Lash Mascara from Walmart for less than $6. I was on the hunt for a good mascara to add volume and length for my barely there lashes.

The packaging states “Unleash colossally chaotic lashes! Our big volume formula and Teaser Brush plump and disorganize lashes for a perfectly sexy mess”

Now on to the review…

The packaging is cute. The splashes of black on the tube makes it look like abstract art which is a favorite of mine.

The brush is supposed to be an angled Teaser Brush, but you can’t really see that there’s an angle with the mascara on the brush. It is supposed to be used vertically to separate the lashes, but I will get to that later.

After my first coat I noticed immediately how long my lashes were! You can’t deny that this mascara has lengthening powers. After applying a couple more coats my lashes were reaching the sky they were so long! I give this mascara an A+ for length and volume.

Now, the package states that after applying mascara from root to tip horizontally, you should turn the brush vertically and apply more mascara using a windshield wiper motion. I found that doing this makes my lashes look a bit messier. I’m sure the more that you do it, the more it will give you that effect.

This mascara would be great for everyday wear if you didn’t overdo it with the vertical motions and multiple layers. It would also be great for a more dramatic look by adding more mascara and using the windshield wiper motions. It’s all up to you!

I would recommend this mascara simply because it makes my lashes long. Isn’t that what mascara is supposed to do? And you can’t beat the price :)
