I've heard that you should color your hair the day after you washed it, not the same day. Is this true? And if, why?
Shouldn't you color your hair when it's completely clean?

See :/ this is where I get confused, because I've ALWAYS been told to wash my hair before dying it because the oils & dirt will prevent the dyes from penetrating the hair.. or whatever :s

Because the sebum produced by the scalp needs to be present in sufficient quantities to protect the scalp from the dye.
